WFLI-TV (channel 53) is a television station licensed to Cleveland, Tennessee, United States, serving the Chattanooga area as an affiliate of The CW and MyNetworkTV. It is owned by MPS Media, which maintains a local marketing agreement (LMA) with New Age Media, owner of True Crime Network/Comet affiliate WDSI-TV (channel 61), for the provision of certain services. Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner of dual ABC/Fox affiliate WTVC (channel 9), provides some engineering functions for both stations under LMAs and also programs WFLI-TV. An independent station is a type of television station broadcasting in the United States or Canada that is not affiliated with any broadcast television network; most commonly, these stations carry a mix of syndicated, brokered and in some cases, local programming to fill time periods when network programs typically would air. Master control is the technical hub of a broadcast operation common among most over-the-air television stations and television networks. It is distinct from a production control room (PCR) in television studios where the activities such as switching from camera to camera are coordinated. A transmission control room (TCR) is usually smaller in size and is a scaled down version of centralcasting. Master control is the final point before a signal is transmitted over-the-air for terrestrial television or cablecast, satellite provider for broadcast, or sent on to a cable television operator. Highland Park, Chattanooga
Highland Park is a neighborhood in the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It originally was a small city developed between the late 19th century and the mid-20th century. It is located two miles east of downtown Chattanooga, and bounded by Willow and Holtzclaw streets on the east and west, and McCallie and Main streets on the north and south. It was incorporated in 1905. Later, when it was incorporated into the City of Chattanooga in 1929, it grew to become a popular middle-class suburb with access to multiple train lines. As employment and much downtown property value in Chattanooga declined throughout the 1970s, Highland Park did as well, but it has had significant recent success due to its proximity to the downtown, its vibrant neighborhood association, and many newly renovated historic houses. State Route 8 (SR 8) is a north–south state highway in East and Middle Tennessee. It connects the cities of Chattanooga and McMinnville via Signal Mountain and Dunlap. Route description Hamilton County SR 8 begins in Hamilton County as the unsigned companion route to US 41/US 76 at the Georgia border in East Ridge, where they continue concurrent with Georgia State Route 3. As Ringgold Road, they head east and have an interchange with I-75 and go through downtown before passing through the Bachman Tubes and entering Chattanooga, where it becomes Westside Drive and having an interchange with I-24.
