WEBS (AM)
WEBS (1030 AM and FM translator W278CD 103.5 FM) is an American commercial radio station licensed to serve the community of Calhoun, Georgia; the station serves the Gordon County, Georgia area. While Radio WEBS, Inc. remains a corporate entity, the radio station ceased broadcast services at 6:00 pm DST on Sunday, August 18, 2019, due to a bank foreclosure. The station properties and equipment were sold at auction on September 3, 2019. History WEBS-AM began broadcasting on November 1, 1966 at 1110 kHz. It was begun by the Stocks family—William, Emma Jo, Bruce and Sandy—from whose names the station's call sign originated. In 1980, WEBS was purchased by Kenyon D. Payne, formerly of Rome. Ken grew up with a microphone in his hand because his father, Mather Payne, was owner and operator of WRGA. World English Bible
The World English Bible (WEB) is an English translation of the Bible freely shared online. The translation work began in 1994 and was deemed complete in 2020. Created by volunteers with oversight by Michael Paul Johnson, the WEB is an updated revision of the American Standard Version from 1901. The WEB has two main versions of the Old Testament: one with Deuterocanonical books and the other limited to Protocanonical books. The New Testament is the same in both versions. The Web (band)
The Web were a British jazz/blues band, with a style simultaneously related to America's West Coast groove and UK's proto-prog movement. Hailing from the British psychedelic scene, their style is often described as atmospheric, moody, melancholy, and dark. They were originally fronted by African-American singer John L. Watson, with whom they released two studio albums, ''Fully Interlocking'' (1968) and ''Theraposa Blondi'' (1970). The band increasingly delved into a progressive rock sound with which Watson's vocal style was incompatible, so they set Watson up with a solo career and replaced him with keyboardist/vocalist Dave Lawson. Shortening their name to simply Web, the band fully embraced their new jazz-prog sound on their third LP, ''I Spider'' (1970).
