WDF Virtual Cup
The WDF Virtual Cup was the first and only edition organised by the World Darts Federation, when the coronavirus pandemic stopped the organization of many international tournaments. Member countries may select two men and two women to compete in this event. All matches will be played online and participating players will need one device to keep score, one device with camera to show dartboards, reliable WiFi internet access, DartConnect membership and Skype account. The Virtual Cup will have men's and women's singles competitions composed of group-stage with the top four of each group advancing to a knock-out stage. World Darts Federation
The World Darts Federation (WDF) is a sport governing body and (along with the PDC) a tournament organiser for the game of darts. It was formed in 1974 by representatives of the original fourteen founding members. Membership is open to the national organizing body for darts in all nations. The WDF encourages the promotion of the sport of darts among and between those bodies, in an effort to gain international recognition for darts as a major sport. The WDF is a full member of Global Association of International Sports Federations, which is the governing body for international sports federations. The WDF stages a world championship (called the WDF World Cup), as well as continental championships such as the WDF Americas Cup, the WDF Asia-Pacific Cup and the WDF Europe Cup. Patrik Kovács
Patrik Kovács (born 3 June 1996) is a Hungarian professional darts player who currently plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) events. He is a two-time Budapest Classic champion. He has represented Hungary three-time during the PDC World Cup of Darts tournaments. Career At the age of 16, he took part in the PDC Development Tour for the first time, where he reached his first quarter-finals in 2011. In the following years, he competed only in national tournaments of international rank, where he three-time won the Hungarian Open youth's competition. In 2013, he was invited by the national federation to participate in the 2013 WDF Europe Cup Youth. In the singles competition he was eliminated in the second round, but in the pairs competition with András Borbényi they won a bronze medal. Fallon Sherrock
Fallon Sherrock (born 2 July 1994) is an English professional darts player who plays in World Darts Federation (WDF) and Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Born in Milton Keynes, Sherrock reached the final of the 2015 BDO Women's World Darts Championship, where she was runner-up to Lisa Ashton. In 2019, Sherrock became the first female player to win a match, and subsequently, two consecutive matches, at the PDC World Championships, first by beating Ted Evetts 3–2 in the first round, and then Mensur Suljović 3–1 in the second round, before eventually losing 2–4 to Chris Dobey in the third round. The event saw her earn the nickname "Queen of the Palace" from the name of the venue, the Alexandra Palace. During the 2021 Grand Slam of Darts, Sherrock became the first woman to reach the last 16 of a major darts tournament, after she beat Gabriel Clemens 5–3 in her final group stage match.
