WDEF-FM (92.3 MHz "Sunny 92.3") is a commercial radio station in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The station is owned by Bahakel Communications and airs an adult contemporary radio format. WDEF-FM advertises itself as the "listening at work" station. For much of November and December, the station switches to all-Christmas music. WDEF-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100,000 watts. It can be heard around Southeast Tennessee, Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama. The transmitter is on Hampton Road in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, co-located with the tower for former sister station WDEF-TV Channel 12. Its studios are located on Broad Street in Chattanooga. WXCT (1370 AM, "Alt 98-7") is a commercial radio station in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The station is owned by Bahakel Communications along with WDEF-FM, WDOD-FM, and WUUQ. WXCT has an adult album alternative radio format. The studios are located on Broad Street in Chattanooga,. WXCT’s power is 5,000 watts. WDOD-FM (96.5 MHz) is a radio station broadcasting a Top 40/CHR format. Licensed to Chattanooga, Tennessee, the station is currently owned by WDOD of Chattanooga, Inc. Its studios are located on Broad Street in Chattanooga, and its transmitter is located in Walden. History Early years The station signed on in the early 1960s as a simulcast of WDOD AM. Both stations played country music. Past personalities included Gene Michaels, Earl Freudenberg, Tommy Jett, Jerry Pond, and "Big" Bill Love. Roy H (foaled April 22, 2012) is a Thoroughbred racehorse who is the two time winner of the Breeders' Cup Sprint. He was named the American Champion Sprint Horse of 2017 and 2018.
