WCCR-FM is an American radio station licensed to the borough of Clarion, Pennsylvania. WCCR-FM operates at the federally assigned frequency of 92.7 MHz with an effective radiated power of 3,000 watts. This station, along with its co-located AM sister WWCH, is owned by Clarion County Broadcasting. History WCCR-FM debuted in 1985 under the moniker C-93, with a Top 40/CHR format. The construction permit to build the station was issued on February 14, 1983, with the call letters WMQP first assigned on September 4, 1984. The station never used these call letters, taking its current call sign less than a month later. Throughout the years, the station's formats fluctuated between Top 40 and classic rock, but the station programs a format of hot adult contemporary today. WWCH is an American radio station, licensed to Clarion, Pennsylvania, the seat of government for Clarion County. WWCH is licensed to operate at the federally assigned frequency of 1300 kHz at a maximum power output of 850 watts. WWCH is a full-service, live and local radio station with a country music format. History WWCH is the sole AM radio station in Clarion County, first going on the air with a maximum power output of 500 watts on June 12, 1960. For much of this station's history, it had been a daytime-only operation, not getting nighttime power until the 1990s. WWCH bears the distinction of maintaining its same ownership since its debut, with the only exception being the changing in the owner principals over the years. Clarion, Pennsylvania
Clarion is a borough in and the county seat of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located north-northeast of Pittsburgh and is part of the Pittsburgh DMA. Clarion was settled in 1839 and incorporated in 1841. In the past, the surrounding area produced natural gas, oil, lumber and coal. The population was 2,004 in 1900, 2,864 in 1910, and 3,931 at the 2020 census, down from 5,276 at the 2010 census. It is home to the annual Autumn Leaf Festival and Clarion University of Pennsylvania. The county courthouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Strattanville is a Borough (Pennsylvania), borough in Clarion County, Pennsylvania, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 537 at the 2020 census. History Originally laid out in 1828 by John Strattan Sr., Strattanville lays claim to be the oldest town in Clarion County. Indeed, the first settlement of the town predates the county by 11 years.
