WAMT
WAMT (1190 AM) is an American radio station airing a Christian radio format. Licensed to Pine Castle–Sky Lake, Florida, United States, it serves the Orlando area. The station is an owned and operated affiliate of Family Radio. From 2018 to 2022 it was owned and operated by Relevant Radio and had a Catholic teaching format. WAMT switched to Spanish-language sports at the beginning of 2010. Previously, it featured programming from the CBS Radio Network, Fox News Radio, and Westwood One. At January 21, 2010, at 11:37 pm local time, its website address redirected all visitors to the website of then-sister station, WHOO, which carried a sports format. In December 2011, ESPN Deportes Radio signed off from the station, and the station stunted for about a month, playing canned music and replays of old speeches. WHOO
WHOO (1080 AM) is a non-commercial listener-supported Catholic talk radio station licensed to Winter Park, Florida, and serving Greater Orlando. It is an owned and operated network affiliate of Relevant Radio. By day, WHOO is powered at 6,000 watts. But 1080 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WTIC Hartford and KRLD Dallas. So at night, to reduce interference, WHOO reduces power to only 55 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times. History The WHOO call letters were used on AM 990 in Orlando, which is now WTLN, from 1947 to 1987 and then again from 1988 to 2001. WBMD (750 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a religious format. Licensed to Baltimore, Maryland, United States, the station is Baltimore's outlet for the Catholic-oriented Relevant Radio network. Because it shares the same frequency as " clear channel" station WSB in Atlanta, Georgia; WBMD broadcasts only during the daytime hours. History WBMD began broadcasting November 27, 1947, on 750 kHz with 1 kW power (daytime only). The station was licensed to Key Broadcasting Corporation, with studios at 2 West Eager Street in Baltimore. Pine Castle is a census-designated place and unincorporated area in Orange County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Initially settled in 1870, the town's development has been shaped by that of Orlando, approximately to the north. From just before 1882 the South Florida Railroad mainline, which became part of the Plant System in 1893 and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in 1902, provided regular rapid passenger and freight service.
