WABA Championship
The WABA Championship is an international basketball tournament which takes place every year between national men's teams from West Asia. The tournament is also known as the West Asian Basketball Championship. The tournament is organised by the West Asia Basketball Association, a subzone of the FIBA Asia. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular Basketball court, court, compete with the primary objective of #Shooting, shooting a basketball (ball), basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a Backboard (basketball), backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Qualification for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup were held to determine the participants in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup. Lebanon secured qualification by being named as hosts.
