Woodland And Scrub Communities In The British National Vegetation Classification System
This article gives an overview of the woodland and scrub communities in the British National Vegetation Classification system. Introduction The woodland and scrub communities of the NVC were described in Volume 1 of British Plant Communities, first published in 1991. In total, 25 woodland/scrub communities have been identified, consisting of 19 woodland communities, four communities classed as scrub and 2 as underscrub. The woodland communities consist of: * Six mixed deciduous or oak/birch woodland communities, which between them are found throughout Britain * Three Beech woodland communities, found mainly in southern England * A Yew woodland community, almost completely restricted to southeast England (community W13) * A Scots Pine woodland community, restricted to Scotland * A Juniper woodland community (community W19) * Seven wet woodland communities, characterised by the presence of alder, birch and willows (communities W1, W2, W3, W4, W5, W6 and W7). * Communiti ...

Mercedes-Benz W15
The Mercedes-Benz W15 is an automobile produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1931 to 1936. Regarded today as a mid-size family car, it was given the chassis designation W15, and sold as the Typ 170 in four-door "Limousine" (sedan/saloon) and Cabriolet forms. By 1934 differently configured cabriolets, a sports roadster, and a (military light utility vehicle) were added to what had become for Mercedes an unusually a wide model range. The Typ 170 made its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October 1931, where it was seen as the most important new model introduced that year. It was also the most significant creation of Hans Nibel, the manufacturer's high-profile Technical Director who had taken over the position from Ferdinand Porsche at the start of 1929. Oswald, Werner: Deutsche Autos 1920-1945, volume 2, p. 238 Though the Typ 170 was discontinued in 1936 with the introduction of its successor W136 170, a few sales continued through the first few months of 1937. A smaller Mercedes-Benz W ...

Swanson W-15 Coupe
The Swanson Coupe Model W-15 was a high-wing, cantilever-type monoplane produced in 1931 by Swedish aircraft designer and manufacturer Swen Swanson. Its design was considered innovative and the aircraft was viewed as part of a trend of producing safe and economical airplanes, which would appeal especially to automobile drivers. The Swanson Coupe was also designed to function as trainer aircraft. Design and development Swanson's design of the Kari-Keen Coupe monoplane incorporated his trademark seating design of two people in side-by-side configuration which was unusual at the time. Following the first version of the Kari Keen Coupe, Swanson designed the Kari-Keen 90, an improved version. But the Kari-Keen factory fell victim to the Great Depression and by early 1930 it closed its doors. Swanson did not wait for long and left Kari-Keen to devote his time to the design of his Swanson Coupe W-15. In 1931, after he left Kari-Keen, Swanson established the Swanson Aircraft Co. Inc. wit ...

Thaagurda Language
Thaagurda (sometimes written Daguda) is an Australian Aboriginal language in the Mid West region of Western Australia. It is a member of the Kartu subgroup of the Pama–Nyungan family. According to Marmion (1996) the language has no speakers or individuals who identify with this group as their ethnicity, and there were only a few elderly people who recalled the name and some sentences from the language. This information was however sufficient to indicate that Thaagurda was likely a distinct language from its neighbours Nhanda, Malgana and Wajarri The Wajarri people, also spelt Wadjari, Wadjarri, Watjarri, and other variations, are an Aboriginal Australian people whose traditional lands are in the Mid West region of Western Australia. Truncated Cuboctahedron
In geometry, the truncated cuboctahedron is an Archimedean solid, named by Kepler as a truncation of a cuboctahedron. It has 12 square faces, 8 regular hexagonal faces, 6 regular octagonal faces, 48 vertices, and 72 edges. Since each of its faces has point symmetry (equivalently, 180° rotational symmetry), the truncated cuboctahedron is a 9-zonohedron. The truncated cuboctahedron can tessellate with the octagonal prism. Names There is a nonconvex uniform polyhedron with a similar name: the nonconvex great rhombicuboctahedron. Cartesian coordinates The Cartesian coordinates for the vertices of a truncated cuboctahedron having edge length 2 and centered at the origin are all the permutations of: :(±1, ±(1 + ), ±(1 + 2)). Area and volume The area ''A'' and the volume ''V'' of the truncated cuboctahedron of edge length ''a'' are: :\begin A &= 12\left(2+\sqrt+\sqrt\right) a^2 &&\approx 61.755\,1724~a^2, \\ V &= \left(22+14\sqrt\right) a^3 &&\approx 41. ...

Workhorse W-15
The Lordstown Endurance is a full-size battery electric pickup truck with wheel hub motors manufactured by Lordstown Motors in collaboration with Foxconn at its Ohio factory. The Endurance entered production in September 2022. It is the company's first production automobile. History Development began as the range-extended electric vehicle Workhorse W-15 in 2016. The automotive press got their first impressions of the W-15 at a May 2017 event held in Long Beach, California. A prototype W-15 was shown in August 2018, fitted with a gasoline range extender sourced from BMW. Steve Burns, the CEO of Workhorse, left that company to help found the automotive startup Lordstown Motors in autumn 2019. The W-15 design was licensed in November 2019 to Lordstown in exchange for a 10% minority stake in the latter company, and Workhorse paused further development of the W-15. In the second half of December 2019, Lordstown Motors presented the first preliminary information about its vehicle. The ...
