W. Wangyuh
W. Wangyuh Konyak (born 20 October 1963) was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Nagaland constituency and is a member of the Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) political party. Political Life Member of Parliament Konyak won the Lok Sabha elections in 2004 with a margin of over 400,000 votes against his closest opponent, K. Asungba Sangtam who represented the Indian National Congress in the previous term. He fought the election on an NPF ticket. In 2006, he urged the Information and Broadcasting Ministry of the Indian government to ban the screening of the movie The Da Vinci Code in India. He also asked the then Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio to convene a special session of the state assembly to ban the movie in Nagaland or issue an official notification in this regard. Mon District
Mon District (Pron:/mɒn/) is a district of Nagaland, a state in India. It is the third-largest district in Nagaland in terms of area. The district has a population of 250,260 people. Mon Town is the headquarters of the district. History After independence in 1947, Tuensang was created as a separate administrative centre and in 1952, it became a sub-division of NEFA under a separate Assistant Political Officer. Later, in 1957, the Tuensang subdivision was bifurcated from NEFA and merged into the Naga Hills-TuensangArea along with three Districts of Kohima, Mokokchung and Tuensang. United Progressive Alliance
United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is a centre-left political alliance of predominantly left-leaning political parties in India. Neiphiu Rio
Neiphiu Guolhoulie Rio (born 11 November 1950) is an Indian politician serving as the 9th Chief Minister of Nagaland. Rio has also served as Chief Minister for three separate terms (2002–07, 2007–12, 2012–14 and 2018–till date), making him the only Nagaland Chief Minister to have served three consecutive terms.
