Vöslauer Mineralwasser GmbH is an Austrian mineral water company located in Bad Vöslau and is a subsidiary of Ottakringer brewing company. Vöslauer is also responsible for bottling of Almdudler, a popular Austrian soft drink. Up until the end of 2021, they also bottled and marketed drinks by Pepsi. History The company was founded in 1936 by the Zentralsparkasse as ''Vöslauer Heilquellenverwetungsgesellschaft'' (Healing source company). The water for the thermal spa Bad Vöslau comes from the same source. On January 1 2010 the company was made a subsidiary of Ottakringer brewing company. In 2018 the company had a revenue of 102.96 million Euro. While maintaining an export quota of 18%, the revenue rose to 106 million Euro in 2019. Bad Vöslau
Bad Vöslau (; Central Bavarian: ''Bod Vöslau'') is a spa town in the Lower Austria federal state of Austria. It is also known as the cradle of the Austrian red wine cultivation. History In 1770s, Count Johann von Fries, whose vineyards were situated around Bad Vöslau, was the first from this region to grow red wine on a large scale. Ottakringer
Ottakringer () is the last large brewery remaining in Vienna, Austria, and is located in Ottakring, the 16th district of Vienna. History The Ottakringer brewery was opened in 1837 by the master miller Heinrich Plank under the name of ''Planksche Brauerei'', after the ruling diocese of Klosterneuburg had granted approval for brewing. In 1850, it was taken over and expanded into a large brewery by the cousins, Ignaz and Jakob Kuffner from Lundenburg. Within ten years, the production increased from 18,318 hl to 64,183 hl. When Kaiser Franz Joseph ordered that the city walls be pulled down and a large number of residential buildings began to be built, Ottakringer grew as well. Almdudler () is the brand name of a popular carbonated soft drink from Austria. Product The original Almdudler is a sweetened carbonated beverage made of herbal extracts. Almdudler has been called the "national drink of Austria". Its popularity in Austria is second only to Coca-Cola. About 80 million litres of the beverage are produced per year. Almdudler is currently sold in original, light (sugar-free), "still" (uncarbonated), and ''g'spritzt'' (mixed with carbonated mineral water) versions. An artesian aquifer is a confined aquifer containing groundwater under positive pressure. An artesian aquifer has trapped water, surrounded by layers of impermeable rock or clay, which apply positive pressure to the water contained within the aquifer.
