VÃtor Damas
VÃtor Manuel Afonso Damas de Oliveira (8 October 1947 – 13 September 2003), known as Damas, was a Portuguese footballer who played as a goalkeeper. In a 23-year professional career he was mainly linked with Sporting, but he also played for three other teams, including Racing de Santander in La Liga. A Portugal international for 17 years, Damas represented the country at the 1986 World Cup and Euro 1984, both in his mid-to-late 30s. Club career Born in Lisbon, Damas made his professional debut with hometown club Sporting CP at the age of just 19. After two years as a backup he became the capital side's undisputed starter, winning two Primeira Liga and three Taça de Portugal trophies, including the double in 1973–74. Fibula
The fibula or calf bone is a leg bone on the lateral side of the tibia, to which it is connected above and below. It is the smaller of the two bones and, in proportion to its length, the most slender of all the long bones. Manuel Bento
Manuel Galrinho Bento (25 June 1948 – 1 March 2007) was a Portuguese professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Bento was best known for his 20-year spell at Benfica, having retired well into his 40s after appearing in nearly 650 official games. He represented Portugal at Euro 1984 and the 1986 World Cup, helping the national team reach the semi-finals in the former tournament. Chosen by Portuguese sports newspaper ''Record'' as one of the best 100 Portuguese footballers, Bento won the ''Goalkeeper of the Year'' award a best-ever eight times. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Cap (sport)
In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. The practice was first approved on 10 May 1886 for association football after a proposal made by N. In association footballing terms, a caretaker manager or interim manager is somebody who takes temporary charge of the management of a football team, usually when the regular Manager (association football), manager is dismissed or leaves for a different club. Rodolfo Sergio RodrÃguez RodrÃguez (born January 20, 1956 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He was once the most capped player in the history of the Uruguay national team with 78 international appearances between 1976 and 1986. His youth player career began at Cerro in 1971, but he moved to Nacional in 1976. At Nacional, RodrÃguez started his professional career in 1976. He played with the team until 1984, having won the Uruguayan Championship in 1977, 1980 and 1983, the Copa Libertadores in 1980 and the Copa Intercontinental also in 1980.
