Vrbanja (river)
The Vrbanja ( sr-cyrl, Врбања) is a river in Central Bosnia, Bosnia and Herzegovina; with Ugar, the largest right tributary of the Vrbas. Its basin covers an area of approximately 703.5 km2. It has significant hydropower potential. There are many different estimations of the Vrbanja's length, from 70.5 km and 84 km to 95.4 km. Name Like many other sites in Bosnia, Vrbanja is named after the willows that grow along the river from Kruševo Brdo to Banja Luka. Other examples are Vrbanjci village and Vrbanja, near Banja Luka, as well as Vrbas and a bridge in the center of Sarajevo. Geography The Vrbanja source is on the slopes of Vlašić Mountain, upstream of Pilipovina village (at about 1,530 meters above sea level). Čelinac
Čelinac ( sr-cyr, Челинац) is a town and municipality located in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As of 2013, it has a population of 15,548 inhabitants, while the town of Čelinac has a population of 5,097 inhabitants. Borja (mountain)
Borja () is a mountain in central Bosnia (Bosnia and Herzegovina), between the town of Teslić and the village of Maslovare. It spreads in the southeast – northwest, and from Uzlomac is divided on saddle Solila, through which passes main road M-4 (Banja Luka – Matuzići – Doboj, which exits on the M-17 (as corridor Vc). The biggest part of this mountain lies in the municipalities of Teslić and Kotor Varoš. Over 1,000 meters above sea level at Borja are Runjavica (1,077 m), Pavlov vrh (Paul's peak, 1029 m), Komin (1,029 m) and Kuke (Hooks, 1.016 m). On the peaks of the mountain chain Očauš – Borja – Uzlomac is a watershed between basins of Bosnia and Vrbas. Borja is rich in dense coniferous–deciduous forest communities. Demićka
Demićka is a river that flows through Bosnia. It is the largest left bank tributary of the Vrbanja river. It rises above the Dunići village at around 1,050 meters above sea level, on the southern slopes of Zāstinje (Backstones, 1,230 m), in Vlašić massif. The river's length is around 10 km. Demićka streams northwest through Dèmići village between the Radohova and Stražbenica Mountains. The river mouth is in Šiprage. Downstream of its source, Demićka enters a short canyon below Dunići village, known as Dunića stijene (Dunići's Rocks), followed by a funnel-shaped area near its estuary. Below Dunići, the river enters a vertical ravine with a depth of 400 meters. Ćorkovac
The Ćorkovac ( sr-cyrl, Ћорковац) is an eastern confluent of the Vrbanja river in Bosnia. It begins on the north-eastern slopes of the Vlašić mountain's plateau, and the mouth opens at Šiprage, where the town's sawmill was. The spring of Ćorkovac is 1,150 metres above sea level, and its length is around 6 kilometres. It flows between the Jasen and Stražbenica mountains to its estuary. The watermills were in operation until the 1960s. In the relatively narrow area there is a fertile and wide riverhead between Ćorkovac, Ilomska, Čudnić, Kovačevići's stream, Grabovička rijeka, Kobilja, Ugrić and other confluents of Vrbanja and the Ugar river. Čudnić
The Čudnić ( sr-cyrl, Чуднић) is a left, western tributary of the Vrbanja in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It flows to Panići village and empties into the village of Čudić in the village of Kruševo Brdo, below Arapov Brijeg (Arab's hill). It springs on the southeastern slopes of the lower Vlašić's plateau, below the Ilomska and its tributaries. The spring is on a riverhead with the Kovačevića creek and the Ćorkovac creek. The tributary flows deep and fast; it is the local population's belief that the Čudnić is flowing over a part of the water of the Ilomska confluence. In World War II, during Operation Kugelblitz, or the '6th Enemy Offensive', of 1943 to 1944, partisans established the 12th Division's hospital near Šiprage. Jošavka (river)
Jošavka is the right and one of the largest tributaries of the Vrbanja, which it joins in Čelinac. Arises from two streams: Ćetina and Babića potok rising on the northeast slopes of the hill Tromeđa (404 m) in the foothills of the mountain massif of Uzlomac (1002 m). Bosanka (river)
The Bosanka ( sr-cyrl, Босанка) is a right tributary of the Vrbanja river in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It rises on the southern slopes of the mountain Uzlomac (about 800 m above sea level) in four streams. Sources are between Rapno brdo (north) and Matrakova kosa (south). The length is about 6 km. Flowing through Petrovići, and its mouth between the villages of Dabovci and Dudići. The mouth is downstream from Vrbanjci, along highway M-4 (Banja Luka - Doboj). Jezerka
Jezerka is an eastern tributary (class H - Hydrographic, freshwater stream) of Europe's Vrbanja River. It flows from the western slopes of the Uzlomac, beginning at nine hundred meters above sea level, south of the villages of Grabik and Jankovine. The river delta is several kilometers upstream from Vrbanjci, along the main motorway M-4 (Banja Luka – Doboj). Its largest tributaries are Žilića and Dubočaj with Pirizevac (to the east). Seven mills were built on the Jezerka in the late 1950s. On the plateau of its upper flow, crossroads lead to the village of Gornji Obodnik and to the M-4 motorway. Kruševica (river)
Kruševica is the strongest right tributary of Vrbanja in central Bosnia. It rises from two streams (Vilenski and Grebenski potok = Fairy's and Reefs stream) whose source on the northeast slopes of the Očauš Mountain (at around 950 above sea level). The source is exposed to the Borja Mountain. On geographic maps as Kruševica is often marked an other river ( Bobovica), whose estuary is around 20 miles upstream. Trnovac (Vrbanja)
The Trnovac (Трновац) is a river/stream in Central Bosnia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of many right tributaries of Vrbanja river.
