''Volume 7'' is the fifth studio album by Brazilian psychedelic rock band Violeta de Outono, although it's their seventh studio release if the extended plays ''Reflexos da Noite'' and '' The Early Years'' are counted (hence the album's name). It was released on July 7, 2007 by Voiceprint Records, being the first album of the band to not feature founding member Angelo Pastorello, who was replaced by Gabriel Costa. It was also their first release with keyboardist Fernando Cardoso. Violeta De Outono
Violeta de Outono (Portuguese for Autumn Violet) is a Brazilian psychedelic/progressive rock band from São Paulo. Heavily influenced by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Gong, they were originally a post-punk band with some psychedelic elements intertwined, but would gradually drop their post-punk influences and add more prog elements to their sonority as time went by. The band underwent numerous changes in its line-up since its inception; the only founding member remaining today is vocalist/guitarist Fabio Golfetti. History Fabio Golfetti founded Violeta de Outono in 1985 alongside Cláudio Souza; both had just parted ways with pioneering New Romantic band Zero. Voiceprint Records
Voiceprint Records was a British independent record label based in England, founded in November 1990 by Rob Ayling. They specialised in re-releasing old material, especially progressive rock, but also had new releases, under the Resurgence and Blueprint labels. The holding company, Zeit Distribution Ltd., went into insolvency in 2010. It was replaced by the phoenix company, Gonzo Multimedia in 2010. The new company has a broader remit, and releases a much wider range of music. Labels Voiceprint operated a number of record labels, including some for a single band or set of related artists. ''The Early Years'' is an EP by Brazilian psychedelic rock band Violeta de Outono, released on July 21, 1988 by now-defunct independent label Wop-Bop Records. It is Violeta de Outono's third official release. It contains cover versions of songs by some of the band's major influences: The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Gong and The Rolling Stones. Those recordings trace to as far as Violeta de Outono's inception in 1985, and were remastered for this release. Fabio Golfetti (born April 10, 1960) is a Brazilian musician and record producer, famous for his work with progressive/ psychedelic rock band Violeta de Outono. He is also the guitarist of Franco-British rock band Gong since 2012. Biography Fabio Golfetti was born in São Paulo in 1960. He grew up listening to Pink Floyd, Gong, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and The Rolling Stones (with their 1967 album ''Their Satanic Majesties Request'' being one of his favorite releases by them), and as a teenager he learned how to play both the classical and the electric guitar, quoting Daevid Allen, Syd Barrett, Terje Rypdal and Manuel Göttsching as some of his major influences. In 1978 he founded Lux, his first band.
