Volt UK
Volt UK (officially: Volt United Kingdom) is a pro-European political party in the United Kingdom. It is the British branch of Volt Europa, a political movement that operates on a European level. History Volt UK was founded in London on 6 January 2020, with Philipp Gnatzy as its first leader. 2021 Elections In the 2021 local elections, the party stood one candidate for election to a local authority, Luis Perdigao in Cubbington & Leek Wootton Ward in Warwickshire. He campaigned in particular for improvements in the transport sector and public transport, in addition to avoiding damage from Brexit. In London, Volt backed Richard Hewison, Rejoin EU's candidate for mayor, and the two parties stood a joint list for the London-wide Assembly seats. Hewison received 1.1% of the mayoral vote, while the two parties received 49,389 votes (1.91%) for the Assembly and thus did not win a seat. Proposed Second Scottish Independence Referendum
A second referendum (commonly referred to as indyref2) on independence from the United Kingdom (UK) has been proposed by the Scottish Government. Renew Party
The Renew Party was a minor centrist political party in the United Kingdom. It was set up in 2017 to provide an alternative for moderate voters in the wake of the 2016 United Kingdom European Union membership referendum. The party described itself as wanting to reform existing political structures and did not identify with either left-wing or right-wing ideologies. Pollokshields (Ward 6) is one of the 23 wards of Glasgow City Council. On its creation in 2007 and in 2012 it returned three council members, using the single transferable vote system. For the 2017 Glasgow City Council election, the boundaries were changed, the ward increased in size and returned four members. 2022 Glasgow City Council Election
The 2022 election to the Glasgow City Council took place on 5 May 2022 on the same day as the 31 other Scottish local government elections. The election used the 23 wards created following the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland's 5th Review, with 85 councillors being elected. Each ward elected either 3 or 4 members, using the STV electoral system. Similar to the last election in 2017, the Scottish National Party (SNP) won the most seats and formed a minority administration.
