Volleyball World League
The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The women's version of the competition was called FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup. From 2018, the World League and World Grand Prix was replaced by the men's and women's Nations League and men's and women's Challenger Cup. 2002 FIVB Volleyball World League
The 2002 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 13th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament, played by 16 countries from 27 June to 18 August 2002. The Final Round was held in Belo Horizonte (Main) and Recife (Sub), Brazil. Pools composition Intercontinental round *The top two teams in each pool will qualify for the Final Round. 2014 FIVB Volleyball World League
The 2014 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 25th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament, played by 28 countries from 23 May to 20 July 2014. The Group 1 Final Round was held in Florence, Italy. Qualification *No qualification tournament. *All teams of the 2013 edition directly qualified. *10 teams were invited by the FIVB. Format *It will be the first time the World League will feature 28 teams, having had 18 teams in 2013 and 16 teams from 2001–03 and 2006–12. Volleyball At The 2008 Summer Olympics
Volleyball competitions (beach and indoor) at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing were held from 9 to 24 August 2008. Indoor volleyball events were held at Capital Indoor Stadium and Beijing Institute of Technology Gymnasium. Beach volleyball competitions were held from 9 to 22 August 2008 at the Beach Volleyball Ground at Chaoyang Park. The 2008 Summer Olympics volleyball competitions brought the introduction of the new ball with a new moulding design making it more softened compared to the Mikasa MVP200.
