Vladimir Popović (diplomat)
Vladimir Popović Lukin (27 January 1914 – 1 April 1972) was a Yugoslav diplomat, communist politician and army general. He was a close associate of Josip Broz Tito. He was, during his career, a delegate to the UN, close associate of Josip Broz Tito, Yugoslavia's envoy (ambassador) to the USSR, US, China, and Vietnam, member of the federal government of Yugoslavia, and chair of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Assembly of Yugoslavia, and secretary to the presidency until his death in 1972. Biography Popović was born in 1914 in Gornji Brčeli, near Bar, Kingdom of Montenegro. In 1932, he joined the Yugoslav Communist Party. From 1934 to 1937, he attended the NKVD School in Leningrad under the nickname of "Španac" (Spaniard) where he learned English, German, and Spanish language and diplomat protocols. Vladimír Popovič (born 27 November 1939, Uhrovec, Vysoká nad Uhom, district Michalovce) is a Slovak painter, visual artist and a professor. Vladimír Popovič is an important Slovak artist whose work spans over 50 years. Biography Vladimír Popovič was born in eastern Slovakia (Vysoká nad Uhom) in 1939. He grew up at the foothills of the High Tatras mountain range. After completing the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava ( 1959–1965) he presented his first "crumpled paper" works, object assemblages and action art involving paper. He regularly takes part in international symposiae in painting, enamel and paper. His works are presented in numerous domestic and international exhibitions, as well as being part of many public and private collections. Vladica Popović
Vladimir "Vladica" Popović (; 17 March 1935 – 10 August 2020) was a Serbian professional footballer and manager. The biggest success in his coaching career was winning the Intercontinental Cup with Red Star Belgrade in 1991. Born in Zemun, Popović started playing at local side Jedinstvo but his talent was spotted while he was still very young and giants Red Star Belgrade brought him to their youth team where he will later play for more than a decade becoming team captain and also regular member of the Yugoslav national team. He was part of the team that won the silver medal at the 1956 Summer Olympics. Popović began coaching football in Venezuela in the 1970s, leading Portuguesa FC, Caracas F.C. and Deportivo Italia.
