Vladimir Krainev
Vladimir Krainev (russian: Влади́мир Все́володович Кра́йнев; 1 April 1944 – 29 April 2011) was a Russian pianist and professor of piano, People's Artist of the USSR. Biography Krainev was born in Krasnoyarsk, the son of musician Vsevolod Krainev and pediatrician Rachil Gerschoig. He studied at the Central School of the Moscow Conservatory in the class of Anaida Sumbatyan, and also studied at the Conservatory in the classes of Heinrich Neuhaus, and his son, Stanislav Neuhaus. After winning second prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition and first prize at the Vianna da Motta International Music Competition (ex-aequo with Nelson Freire), and especially after his victory at the fourth International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (first prize ex-aequo with John Lill), his career as a pianist began. Piano
The piano is a stringed keyboard instrument in which the strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material (modern hammers are covered with dense wool felt; some early pianos used leather). It is played using a keyboard, which is a row of keys (small levers) that the performer presses down or strikes with the fingers and thumbs of both hands to cause the hammers to strike the strings. Ingmar Lazar (born June 22, 1993 in Saint-Cloud, is a French classical pianist. Lazar started to play the piano when he was five. He made his debut at the age of six at the Salle Gaveau. At the age of 10, he won the International EPTA Piano Competition in Namur, Belgium, and in 2008, the C.I.M. International Competition in Val d'Isère. Ilya Rashkovskiy (born 17 November 1984, in Irkutsk) is a Russian pianist. Education Ilya Rashkovskiy debuted with the Irkutsk Chamber Orchestra at the age of eight. He studied from 1993 to 2000 at the Novosibirsk Special School of Music with Prof. M. Lebenzon, from 2000 to 2009 at the Musikhochschule Hannover with Prof. V. Krainev, and finally at the Ecole Normale Supérieure A. Cortot in Paris with Prof. M. Rybicki. Dong-Min Lim
Dong-Min Lim (born April 14, 1980, in Seoul) is a South Korean classical pianist. He and his brother Dong-Hyek Lim won third prize at the XV International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. Dong Min Lim studied at the Moscow Conservatory, at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and at Mannes College The New School for Music. Childhood Unusually for a famous pianist, Lim started playing the piano at the age of nine. However, within two years he had won various competitions in South Korea such as Samick Piano Competition. Biography Godart learned to play the piano at age five with Renée Entremont, pianist Philippe Entremont's mother, then with Yvonne Loriod and won a first prize for piano, chamber music and accompaniment at the Conservatoire de Paris. He also worked the piano with Pierre Réach and Vadim Sakharov.
