Vixen 101
Vixen 101 (or Vixen 87 as it was originally known) is a community radio organisation based in the town of Market Weighton, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The station has transmitted several Restricted Service Licence 28-day broadcasts and on 20 December 2007 was awarded a five-year community radio licence for the area. The station then began permanent broadcasting on 10 January 2009 on the frequency of 101.8 FM. History The concept for what is now Vixen 101 originated with lifelong Market Weighton resident, Paul Stellings. By the start of 2002, Stellings had 18 years of broadcasting and management experience with Radio Medica, a local hospital radio station. Market Weighton
Market Weighton ( ) is a town and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is one of the main market towns in the East Yorkshire Wolds and lies midway between Hull and York, about from either one. According to the 2011 UK census, Market Weighton parish had a population of 6,429, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 5,212. History The 19th-century English lexicographer Sir William Smith proposed Market Weighton as the location of the still-undiscovered Roman camp of Delgovicia. Historically the town was listed in the ''Domesday Book'' as "Wicstun" and was granted its charter to become a market town in 1251. Emperor Rosko
Michael Joseph Pasternak (born 26 December 1942), known by his stage name Emperor Rosko, is an American presenter of rock music programmes, most widely known for his shows on Radio Caroline and BBC Radio 1 in the UK in the 1960s and early 1970s. Early life Born in Los Angeles, California, he is the son of Hollywood film producer Joe Pasternak. He was influenced in his career choice by KYA Radio disc jockeys Lord Tim Hudson and Wolfman Jack in Los Angeles. Pasternak's opportunity to broadcast came when he was in the US Navy, where he presented a show on the aircraft carrier , using the name Michael Prescott. He then moved to Europe and hosted sponsored programmes in France and Andorra. Christopher David Moyles (born 22 February 1974) is an English radio and television presenter, author and presenter of '' The Chris Moyles Show'' on Radio X. Texas are a Scottish alternative rock band from Glasgow. They were founded in 1986 by Johnny McElhone (formerly of the bands Altered Images and Hipsway) and Sharleen Spiteri on lead vocals. "Inner Smile" is a song by Scottish alternative rock band Texas, originally released on their greatest hits album, '' The Greatest Hits'' (2000). Written by Gregg Alexander and Rick Nowels and arranged by Texas, the song is based on Alexander's unreleased demo "Inner Child", which was written and performed between 1995 and 1998. William Bradley (giant)
William Bradley (10 February 1787 – 30 May 1820), known more commonly as Giant Bradley or the Yorkshire Giant, is one of the tallest recorded British men that ever lived, measuring , the same height as Angus MacAskill from Scotland. Biography Born in Market Weighton within the East Riding of Yorkshire, William was the fourth son in a family of thirteen and weighed 14 pounds (6.35 kg) at birth.
