Panic Room is a Welsh progressive rock band founded by former Karnataka members Paul Davies, Jonathan Edwards, Gavin Griffiths, and Anne-Marie Helder; along with bassist Alun Vaughan, in 2006. History Panic Room released their debut album '' Visionary Position'' in early 2008. In August 2009, it was announced that pre-orders were being taken for their upcoming second studio album ''Satellite''. A UK tour followed through September, October and November 2009 supporting the upcoming release of ''Satellite''. The pre-release version was released in December 2009 with the retail copy released in early 2010. The album was available in a single disc version and also as a special edition with an extra disc entitled Little Satellite''' containing 4 extra songs recorded at the Satellite sessions. Steve Rothery
Steven Rothery (born 25 November 1959) is an English musician. He is the original guitarist and the longest continuous member of the British rock band Marillion. Outside Marillion, Rothery has recorded two albums as part of the duo the Wishing Tree and an instrumental solo album, ''The Ghosts of Pripyat'', released in September 2014. He also founded the British Guitar Academy in 2011. Biography Rothery was born in Brampton, then in the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, and from the age of six he lived in Whitby, North Yorkshire. He began to play the guitar at the age of 15. Derek William Dick (born 25 April 1958), better known by his stage name Fish, is a Scottish singer-songwriter and occasional actor. Fish became widely known as the lead singer and lyricist of the neo-progressive rock band Marillion from 1981 until 1988. Marillion
Marillion are a British rock music, rock band, formed in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, in 1979. Satellite (Panic Room Album)
''Satellite'' is the second album by Welsh progressive rock band Panic Room. This album saw the band retreat somewhat from the very 'progressive' approach to their debut album '' Visionary Position'' and the result is a more cohesive, song-orientated album. The album was recorded at Sonic One Studios in Wales by Tim Hamill and the artwork was designed and created by Teslin Davies. Pre-orders of the album were released in 2009. A special edition, complete with a bonus disc containing four extra songs is available exclusively from the band's own website and at live concerts. The single disc retail version was released on 25 January 2010. This was the final album to feature the original lineup, as Alun Vaughan left the band during the summer of 2010. Anne-Marie Helder
Anne-Marie Helder is a British singer and songwriter, best known for fronting the UK rock band Panic Room. She has also performed internationally as a solo artist and with various bands since circa the year 2000. In 2005 she supported Fish on his ''Return to Childhood'' tour, and since then she has opened shows for artists including Midge Ure, Nick Harper, Glenn Tilbrook (of Squeeze) and then was the supporting act for the Ultravox tour in 2010, Creamy Jobe From 1999 to 2002, Helder was a member of the band Creamy Jobe, based in South Wales, in which she was one of three lead vocalists. Helder also played the keyboard and flute. Writing their own music, the band also included Guy Wendon, Chris Woodman, Mathew Dermody and Steve Lott. Karnataka (band)
Karnataka are a Welsh progressive rock band formed in 1997 by Ian Jones (bass/acoustic guitar), Jonathan Edwards (keyboards) and Rachel Jones (vocals). The band started as a project to record songs in Ian's home studio, that had been written and performed by Jonathan, Rachel and Ian in earlier bands. The project was augmented by additional musicians, Paul Davies (electric guitars) and Gavin Griffiths (drums), who had played with other members of Karnataka in earlier bands. At the end of the recording the decision was made to continue the project as a band. The name Karnataka was chosen by the band, from a suggestion by Ian, following his trips to that state of India. Mostly Autumn
Mostly Autumn are an English rock band. The group formed in 1995 and have built their reputation through constant touring, never signing to a major label. They produce music heavily influenced by 1970s progressive rock.
