Vishal Garg
Vishal Garg is an Indian researcher working mainly in building energy efficiency and Cool Roofs. Garg is University Chair Professor and Dean Research at Plaksha University. He is also the director of Indorama Ventures Center for Clean Energy. Previously he was Professor and Head of the Center for IT in Building Science at the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad. He is the recipient of the inaugural Dr. Arthur H. Rosenfeld Urban Cooling Achievement Award. He is actively involved in supporting the formulation of national-level policies and standards and implementation of building energy codes in India, and was made a Fellow of IBPSA in 2019. Efficient Energy Use
Efficient energy use, sometimes simply called energy efficiency, is the process of reducing the amount of energy required to provide products and services. For example, insulating a building allows it to use less heating and cooling energy to achieve and maintain a thermal comfort. Installing light-emitting diode bulbs, fluorescent lighting, or natural skylight windows reduces the amount of energy required to attain the same level of illumination compared to using traditional incandescent light bulbs. Improvements in energy efficiency are generally achieved by adopting a more efficient technology or production process or by application of commonly accepted methods to reduce energy losses.
