Virgil
Publius Vergilius Maro (; traditional dates 15 October 7021 September 19 BC), usually called Virgil or Vergil ( ) in English, was an ancient Roman poet of the Augustan period. He composed three of the most famous poems in Latin literature: the '' Eclogues'' (or ''Bucolics''), the '' Georgics'', and the epic ''Aeneid''. A number of minor poems, collected in the '' Appendix Vergiliana'', were attributed to him in ancient times, but modern scholars consider his authorship of these poems as dubious. Virgil's work has had wide and deep influence on Western literature, most notably Dante's '' Divine Comedy'', in which Virgil appears as the author's guide through Hell and Purgatory. Virgilio Barco Vargas
Virgilio Barco Vargas (17 September 1921 – 20 May 1997) was a Colombian politician and civil engineer who served as the 27th President of Colombia serving from 7 August 1986 to 7 August 1990. Early life Barco was born in Cúcuta in the Norte de Santander Department of Colombia to Jorge Enrique Barco Maldonado and Julieta Vargas Durán. He studied Civil Engineering at the National University of Colombia and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from which he graduated in 1943. He entered politics in 1943 when he became a city council member for the Liberal Party in the town of Durania. He was then elected to the lower house of Congress, but went into exile to the US in 1950 because of violence between liberals and conservatives. His daughter, Carolina Barco Isakson (who would later become a Colombian politician herself) was born there. He obtained an M.A. in economics at MIT, where he took classes under Nobel prize winners Robert Solow and Paul Samuelson in 1952. In 1 ... Virgilio Fiorenzi or Virgilio Fiorentini (1560–1644) was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Nocera Umbra (1605–1644). ''(in Latin)'' Biography Virgilio Fiorenzi was born in Perugia, Italy in 1560. On 27 Jun 1605, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Paul V as Bishop of Nocera Umbra. On 3 Jul 1605, he was consecrated bishop by Innocenzo Del Bufalo-Cancellieri, Bishop of Camerino, with Napoleone Comitoli, Bishop of Perugia, and Flaminio Filonardi, Bishop of Aquino, serving as co-consecrators. He served as Bishop of Nocera Umbra until his death on 9 Dec 1644.
