Vincenzo Sospiri Racing Srl (also known as Fortec Italia Motorsport, Euronova Racing by Fortec, Euronova Racing, VS Racing) is an auto racing team based in Italy. History After retiring from racing, Vincenzo Sospiri decided to collaborate with Fortec Motorsport and Italian investors to create in 2001 Euro Formula 3000 team with Michael Bentwood and Polo Villaamil as racing drivers. In 2002, Sospiri joined forces with David Sears and the team was renamed to Euronova Racing. Vincenzo Sospiri
Vincenzo Sospiri (born 7 October 1966) is an Italian former racing driver. Early career In 1981, at the age of 15, Sospiri started racing in the Italian 100cc karting championship. In a karting career described by Michael Schumacher as 'dominating', Sospiri won several Italian and European karting championships and finished runner-up in several more, eventually winning the 100cc World Karting Championship in 1987. In 1988 Sospiri progressed to Formula Ford, before working through to Formula 3000 in 1991, as teammate to Damon Hill in the Middlebridge Lola T91/50 Cosworth. In an uncompetitive car, he was only capable of 9 points all season, including a second place at the German round of the championship at the Hockenheimring. He stepped back down into the Italian F3 series in 1992, before making a return to Formula 3000 in 1993, driving a Reynard 93D Judd for the Mythos team. GT Cup Open Europe
The GT Cup Open Europe is a grand tourer-style sports car racing series founded in 2019 by the Spanish GT Sport Organización. It is a support category to the International GT Open featuring FIA GT4-spec cars as well as eligible one-make category cars. Format The series consists of events in various European countries which feature two races over a weekend. Each weekend the series hosts two 55 minute races with two separate qualifying sessions determining the grid order. There is a mandatory pit stop with a minimum time that must be abided by. During this pit stop, only the driver change may occur if the car is a two driver entry. Fuel may not be added and unless there is a puncture, no tires can be changed. Luis Michael Dörrbecker (Gifhorn, Germany, 9 January 1993) is a Mexican racing driver. Career Dörrbecker started his racing career in 2003, when he was fifteenth in the Super Karts Cup México. In both 2005 and 2006 he won the championship. Furthermore, in 2007 he won the NACAM Formula Kart Rotax Championship Latin America. 2008 saw Dörrbecker's debut in formula racing, coming fourth in the Formula Vee Mexico. He was then second in the Skip Barber Southern Regional Series, held during the winter. In 2009, he got to the twenty-third position in the LATAM Challenge Series, which used Formula Renault cars. Kimiya Sato
is a Japanese racing driver. He currently competes in Super GT. Career After competing in karting in Asia, Sato spent two seasons in Formula BMW UK, ending fourth in 2007. He returned to Japan and resulted runner-up in the 2008 Formula Challenge Japan, then second and fourth in the 2009 and 2010 National Class of the All-Japan Formula Three Championship. Back in Europe, Sato was 10th in the 2011 Formula 3 Euro Series and third in the 2012 German Formula Three. He climbed to Auto GP in 2013, where he ended second in the championship. 2014 Auto GP Series
The 2014 Auto GP Series was the fifth year of the Auto GP, and the fifteenth season of the former Euroseries 3000. The championship began on 13 April in Marrakech, Morocco and finished on 19 October at the Autódromo do Estoril, after eight double-header rounds. Despite missing two rounds during the season, Euronova Racing driver Kimiya Sato was crowned champion, after winning six races over the course of the season. Sato won the championship by 14 points over Tamás Pál Kiss, who was a three-time race winner during the 2014 season. Super Nova International's Markus Pommer completed the championship top three in third position, 27 points in arrears of Pál Kiss, having won races in Marrakech and Monza. Euro Formula 3000
Auto GP, sometimes referred to as the Auto GP World Series and formerly known as both Euro Formula 3000 and the Euroseries 3000, was a European formula racing series. The series' roots can be traced back to 1999 and the Italian Formula 3000 series, organised by Pierluigi Corbari, which used old Lola chassis with Zytek engines. The teams used the Lola T96/50 in the first two years. At the beginning nearly all races were held in Italy, but very quickly the series expanded and had venues in different European countries. The series became European Formula 3000 in 2001. The next three years (2001–2003) saw the Lola B99/50 in use. For 2004, Superfund became the series' title sponsor, planning to use a new car with a new set of regulations, named Formula Superfund, but the funding was pulled before the 2005 season got under way and the series was cancelled. 2012 Formula Abarth Season
The 2012 Formula Abarth season was the eighth season of the former Formula Azzurra, and the third under its guise of "Formula Abarth". The European Championship began on 31 March in Valencia, while the Italian Championship commenced on 10 June at Mugello. They finished together on 30 September at Monza. Nicolas Costa, who drove for Euronova Racing by Fortec, won both series, taking four victories in the Italian series and six victories in the European championship. Costa won the Italian series by nineteen points and the European series by twenty points over runner-up Luca Ghiotto of the Prema Powerteam, with third place in the European championship taken by Ghiotto's teammate Bruno Bonifacio, while Costa's teammate Emanuele Zonzini finished third in the Italian championship.
