Vincenzo Costa
Vincenzo Costa (Gallarate, 30 August 1900 – Milan, 27 November 1974) was an Italian Fascist politician and soldier, the last federal secretary of the Fascist Party of Milan. Biography Costa was born to a Romagnol father and a Milanese mother, into a family with Risorgimento traditions. At the age of fifteen he enlisted in a paramilitary organization called "Sursum Corda", training with one of the volunteer battalions in his free time during his studies. Two years later, during the Great War, he falsified his identity documents (he was still seventeen) in order to enlist in the Royal Italian Army and join his father, who was already fighting at the front. He thus joined the 5th Alpini Regiment, Edolo Battalion, fighting in Trentino and on the Asiago plateau; during a cadet officer course he met and befriended Aldo Resega. Alessandro Pavolini
Alessandro Pavolini (27 September 1903 – 28 April 1945) was an Italian politician, journalist, and essayist, notable for his involvement in the Fascist government, during World War II, and also for his cruelty against the opponents of fascism. Early life and career A native of Florence, Pavolini was the son of Paolo Emilio Pavolini, a major scholar of Sanskrit and other Indo-European languages. A brilliant student, he earned a law degree at the University of Florence and a political science degree at ''La Sapienza'' in Rome, travelling to and from between the two cities. His brother was the writer Corrado Pavolini. After joining Benito Mussolini's movement in Florence, he took part in several actions of the Blackshirts, and led a squad during the 1922 March on Rome – the moment when Fascism took over in Italy. Romagna ( rgn, Rumâgna) is an Italian historical region that approximately corresponds to the south-eastern portion of present-day Emilia-Romagna, North Italy. Traditionally, it is limited by the Apennines to the south-west, the Adriatic to the east, and the rivers Reno and Sillaro to the north and west. The Battle of Vittorio Veneto was fought from 24 October to 3 November 1918 (with an armistice taking effect 24 hours later) near Vittorio Veneto on the Italian Front during World War I. Arnaldo Resega, known as Aldo Resega (16 September 1896 – 18 December 1943) was an Italian Fascist politician and soldier. Biography Born in Milan in 1896 from Anacleto Resega and Maria Allievi, he participated in the First World War with the rank of infantry lieutenant, receiving a Silver Medal of Military Valor for courage displayed during the battle of Caporetto. When the Arditi were created, he volunteered for service with them and obtained command a small Arditi company, which he led across the Piave river during the battle of Vittorio Veneto, capturing a large number of prisoners and earning a Bronze Medal of Military Valor. After the end of the war, Resega became a '' squadrista'' and joined the National Fascist Party, participating in the march on Rome. The 5th Alpini Regiment ( it, 5° Reggimento Alpini) is a regiment of the Italian Army's mountain infantry speciality, the Alpini, which distinguished itself in combat during World War I and World War II.
