Vince Sorrenti
Vince Sorrenti (born 21 March 1961) is an Australian stand-up comedian, writer and television presenter from Punchbowl, New South Wales. He is of Italian descent. Sorrenti performs nationally and internationally. He performs at sports hospitality, charity events, corporate events, club venues and private parties. He performs, MCs, and facilitates at around 200 events per year. Career Whilst studying Architecture at Sydney University, he played rugby union and featured heavily in the acclaimed Architecture Revues over many years. It was here and at the newly opened Sydney Comedy Store that Sorrenti cut his teeth as a performer. In the late 1980s, Sorrenti lived and worked as a stand-up comic in New York City. Spotted by MTV, he became the host of the national ''Big Blank Show'', a live variety/video show which aired nightly from Monday to Thursday. ''Skating on Thin Ice'' was a short-lived Australian celebrity reality television programme broadcast on the Nine Network in 2005. Hosted by Jamie Durie, nine celebrities learnt to skate with the ultimate goal being to perform with Disney on Ice, with proceeds going toward children's charity, CanTeen. Australian Magpie
The Australian magpie (''Gymnorhina tibicen'') is a black and white passerine bird native to Australia and southern New Guinea. Although once considered to be three separate species, it is now considered to be one, with nine recognised subspecies. A member of the Artamidae, the Australian magpie is placed in its own genus ''Gymnorhina'' and is most closely related to the black butcherbird (''Melloria quoyi''). It is not closely related to the European magpie, which is a corvid.
