Villa Ludwigshöhe
Villa Ludwigshöhe is a former summer residence of Ludwig I of Bavaria overlooking Edenkoben and Rhodt unter Rietburg in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Geography Villa Ludwigshöhe is located at the eastern edge of the Palatinate Forest, west of the small-town of Edenkoben and the municipality Rhodt unter Rietburg in the Southern Palatinate. The Villa is reachable by car. Next to the Villa is the lower station of the "Rietburgbahn", a chairlift, by which the Rietburg can be reached. The Rietburg is a ruined hillside castle on the edge of the Palatinate Forest above the village of Rhodt unter Rietburg, Rhodt in the county of Südliche Weinstrasse in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The remains of this castle are located on the side of the 613-metre-high Blättersberg mountain. Maximilian I Joseph (german: Maximilian I. Joseph; 27 May 1756 – 13 October 1825) was Duke of Zweibrücken from 1795 to 1799, prince-elector of Bavaria (as Maximilian IV Joseph) from 1799 to 1806, then King of Bavaria (as Maximilian I Joseph) from 1806 to 1825.
