Vila Olímpica
Vila Olímpica () is Atlético Mineiro's former training ground, located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Inaugurated in 1973, it served as the club's main training facility for almost three decades, before Cidade do Galo was built. It also hosted the Brazil national football team in its preparation for the 1982 FIFA World Cup. The facility is currently a leisure club for Atlético Mineiro's associates. History Originally planned to be built on the site of the old Antônio Carlos stadium, in downtown Belo Horizonte, a legal dispute between Atlético Mineiro and the Belo Horizonte municipal government made the planned new facility to be relocated to the Pampulha region. Clube Atlético Mineiro (), commonly known as Atlético Mineiro or Atlético, and colloquially as Galo (, "Rooster"), is the largest professional football club based in the city of Belo Horizonte, the capital city of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Cidade do Galo ("Rooster City") is Clube Atlético Mineiro's training ground, located in Vespasiano, a municipality adjacent to Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Construction of the first training pitch started in 1982, but for almost three decades the facility was gradually improved, with Clube Atlético Mineiro's first squad training in the grounds for the first time in 2001, and the official inauguration happening in 2006. The Estádio Presidente Antônio Carlos, commonly known as Estádio de Lourdes and colloquially as Estadinho da Colina ("Hill's Small Stadium") was a stadium located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, owned by Atlético Mineiro. Pampulha (Portuguese: ''Região Administrativa da Pampulha'') is an administrative region in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It is one of nine administrative regions of Belo Horizonte, and occupies in the northeast of the city. It has a population of 145,262 and a population density of 3.08 per square kilometer. Telê Santana da Silva, also known as Telê Santana (July 26, 1931 – April 21, 2006) was a Brazilian football manager and former player (right winger). He was born in Itabirito, Minas Gerais. Telê was the manager responsible for putting together the 1982 and 1986 Brazil national squads. The 1982 squad in particular is remembered as one of the greatest teams in football history not to win the World Cup. It included players such as Zico, Sócrates, Falcão, Júnior and Toninho Cerezo.
