Viktoria Tereshkina
Viktoria Valerievna Tereshkina (russian: Викто́рия Вале́рьевна Терёшкина; born 31 May 1983) is a Russian ballet dancer, who performs as a principal dancer with the Mariinsky Ballet in Saint Petersburg. People's Artist of Russia (2018). Laureate of the highest theater award of St. Petersburg "Golden Soffit" (2005, 2006), and Laureate of the IX International Ballet Competition "Arabesque" (Perm, 2006). Early life Tereshkina was born in Krasnoyarsk in Siberia where her father was a gymnastics teacher. From the age of four she was trained in artistic gymnastics in which she performed increasingly well. However, when she reached the age of 10, her parents decided her prospects for an extended career would be better in ballet. As a result, she was sent to the ballet school in Krasnoyarsk. Konstantin Sergeyev
Konstantin Mikhaylovich Sergeyev (russian: Константин Михайлович Сергеев; 5 March 1910 (20 February Old Style) – 1 April 1992) was a Russian danseur, artistic director and choreographer for the Kirov Theatre. When the Kirov Ballet returned to Leningrad from Perm (where it had been moved during the war) Sergeyev became the head choreographer of the company. His first major work was to restage Prokofiev's ''Cinderella'', which is still performed in the present day. His teachers at Leningrad State Choreographic Institute: Mariya Kojukhova, Vladimir Ponomaryov, Viktor Semyonov (Marina Semyonova's first husband). His first wife Feya Balabina was a prima ballerina of the Kirov ballet, as was his second wife Natalia Dudinskaya. Scheherazade (Rimsky-Korsakov)
''Scheherazade'', also commonly ''Sheherazade'' ( rus, Шехеразада, Shekherazada, ʂɨxʲɪrɐˈzadə), Op. 35, is a symphonic suite composed by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov in 1888 and based on ''One Thousand and One Nights'' (also known as ''The Arabian Nights)''. This orchestral work combines two features typical of Russian music in general and of Rimsky-Korsakov in particular: dazzling, colorful orchestration and an interest in the East, which figured greatly in the history of Imperial Russia, as well as orientalism in general. The name "Scheherazade" refers to the main character Scheherazade of the ''One Thousand and One Nights''. It is one of Rimsky-Korsakov's most popular works.
