Viking Wai Chun Wong (; born 17 January 1987) is a Hong Kong born fashion designer and Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) black belt practitioner. The first Chinese male to qualify and compete at the World IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship at adult black belt level, Wong is the first Chinese black belt Asian IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu male Champion. Background Viking Wong was born on 17 January 1987 in British Hong Kong. Wong's grandmother was a tailor and his family is in the garment manufacturing business. Growing up, Wong was a competitive swimmer. Wong attended university at the London College of Fashion graduating in 2009 with a First Class Honors degree in womenswear. British Hong Kong
Hong Kong was a colony and later a dependent territory of the British Empire from 1841 to 1997, apart from a period of occupation under the Japanese Empire from 1941 to 1945 during the Pacific War. Asian IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship
The Asian Championship is the largest Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held in Asia by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. History The Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship has been held since 2006 with the first tournament taking place in Tokyo, Japan. In 2008, the championship moved to Bangkok, Thailand, its 2010 third edition was held in Amman, Jordan. The fourth edition was held on the 15th & 16 July 2012 in Doha, Qatar. As of 2013 forwards the championship is hosted annually in Tokyo Japan. For the 2017/2018 season it carried a weighting of 3 in the IBJJF tournament list. Rolls Gracie (; 1951–1982) was a Brazilian martial artist. He was a prominent member of the Gracie family known for their founding of Brazilian jiu-jitsu and considered by some the family's best ever fighter. He was teacher of Rickson Gracie, Carlos Gracie Jr., Royler Gracie, Maurício "Maurição" Motta Gomes, Márcio "Macarrão" Stambowsky, Rigan Machado and Romero "Jacare" Cavalcanti. Carlos Gracie (September 14, 1902October 7, 1994) was a Brazilian martial artist who is credited with being one of the primary developers of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Along with his younger brother Hélio Gracie and fellow students Luis França and Oswaldo Fadda, he helped develop Brazilian jiu-jitsu based on the teachings of famed Japanese ''judōka,'' Mitsuyo Maeda in Kano Jujitsu (Judo) and is widely considered to be the martial-arts patriarch of the Gracie family.
