Vijaynagar Tehsil
Sri Vijaynagar Tehsil is the one of nine tehsils of Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, India. It is located in the southern part of District Sri Ganganagar. It is bordered by Anoopgarh tehsil in the west, by Raisinghnagar tehsil in the north, Suratgarh tehsil in the east, and Bikaner district in the south. History Earlier it was area of sandy dunes, horny shrubs and trees. Arrival of waters of Gang canal and Indira Gandhi Canal by Anoopgarh branch has important role of flora and fauna of this area. People from other tehsils of Sriganganagar District, Bikaner and from Punjab and Haryana came here and composite culture took its place. The name of this tehsil is in the memory of Prince Bijay Singh who is related to Bikaner State and its actual name is Shri Bijay Nagar but later on it is being called Sri Vijay Nagar. Anupgarh is a town in the state of Rajasthan, India. Located in Sri Ganganagar district, it is the headquarters of the Anupgarh Tehsil. Geography Anoopgarh/Anupgarh has an average elevation of 155 metres (508 feet), and is very close to the border with Pakistan. Jaitsar is a town in the Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan, Jaitsar was named after Th.Jatan Singh ji Rathore who belongs to the royal family of Marwar. Ganga Singh
General Maharaja Sir Ganga Singh, (13 October 1880 – 2 February 1943), was the ruling Maharaja of the princely state of Bikaner (in present-day Rajasthan, India) from 1888 to 1943. As a member of the Imperial War Cabinet, he was present in the Palace of Versailles during The Signing of Peace in the Hall of Mirrors. Biography Ganga Singh was born on the auspicious day of Vijay Dashmi on 13 October 1880 to Maharaj Shri Lal Singh Sahib and his wife Maji Shri Chandravatiji Sahiba.
