Vijay Music Awards
A Vijay Music Award is an accolade given by Vijay TV to recognize outstanding achievement in the Tamil music industry. The annual awards ceremony made its debut in 2011 for the previous calendar year. It launched its official website in partnership with Galatta.com. Its main sponsor was India Gate Basmati Rice and it was powered by The Chennai Silks. Media partners were the publications ''The Hindu'' and ''Kumudam''. The first award ceremony took place in Nehru Indoor Stadium on 11 May 2011. The ceremony was broadcast by Vijay TV in two parts on the 26 and 27 May 2011. Music of Tamil Nadu has a long tradition and history going back thousands of years. Music is a very important aspect of marriage and temple festival Tamil people. ''Thamizh Padam'' () is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language parody film written and directed by C. S. Amudhan in his directorial debut. The film stars Shiva and Disha Pandey. Thamizh Padam was the first full-length spoof in Tamil cinema. It parodies contemporary commercial films and actors in Tamil cinema, mocking the stereotypical scenes. The film was distributed by Dhayanidhi Alagiri under the banner Cloud Nine Movies, and it was released on 29 January 2010. It won critical acclaim and commercial success at the box office. Aaromale
"Aaromale" () is a song from the 2010 Tamil film ''Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa'' and Telugu film ''Ye Maaya Chesave'' composed by A. R. Rahman, featuring lyrics by Kaithapram and the word Aaromale frequently used in the 2012 Hindi version of the song in the film Ekk Deewana Tha with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The song is sung by Malayalam composer Alphons Joseph. The song was well received upon release and was a chart topper. Background A. R. En Kadhal Solla (English: To express my love...) is a song from the 2010 Tamil feature film ''Paiyaa'', composed and performed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The song, with lyrics by Na. Muthukumar, was released as part of the soundtrack album of the film on 12 February 2010. The lover sings desperately to himself unable to express his love, the video is picturized on the lead actors Karthi and Tamanna. The song was a very popular chartbuster, which stayed in the charts up to 10 months, and in the Radio Mirchi charts even one year after its release. Yuvan Shankar Raja
Yuvan Shankar Raja or Abdul Haliq (born 31 August 1979) is an Indian film score and soundtrack composer and singer-songwriter. He mainly scores music for Tamil films. Considered a versatile composer, he is particularly known for his use of Western music elements and often credited with having introduced hip hop to the Tamil film and music industry and started the "era of remixes" in Tamil Nadu.
