Viinistu is a village in Kuusalu Parish, Harju County in northern Estonia. (retrieved 27 July 2021) It is located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland on the Pärispea Peninsula, about north of the town of Loksa. Viinistu has a population of 148 (as of 1 January 2012). Viinistu was first mentioned in 1372 as ''Wynest''. Businessman, politician and art collector Jaan Manitski (born 1942) was born in Viinistu and currently is the biggest employer in the village owning the art museum and a hotel. Kuusalu Parish
Kuusalu Parish ( et, Kuusalu vald) is a rural municipality in northern Estonia, the largest in Harju County. After joining with the adjacent Loksa Parish in 2005, the municipality has now a population of 6,863 (as of 1 January 2009) and covers an area of . The population density is 9.7 inhabitants per km2. Gulf Of Finland
The Gulf of Finland ( fi, Suomenlahti; et, Soome laht; rus, Фи́нский зали́в, r=Finskiy zaliv, p=ˈfʲinskʲɪj zɐˈlʲif; sv, Finska viken) is the easternmost arm of the Baltic Sea. Loksa is a town and municipality in Harju County, Estonia, most known for its shipping industry. The town is situated on the estuary of the Valgejõgi river, which drains into Hara Bay, Gulf of Finland. As of April 1, 2022, the town had a population of 2471. Jaan Manitski (born 7 March 1942 in Viinistu) is an Estonian businessman, politician and art collector. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia in 1992. Biography Manistki was born in Viinistu, on the coast of the Gulf of Finland. He and his parents escaped to Finland and then to Sweden in 1943 when he was only one and a half years old.
