Tower Running
Tower running is a sport which involves running up tall man-made structures. Usually the races take place on the internal staircases of skyscrapers, but the term can cover any foot race which involves a course that ascends a man-made structure. Tower running races often take place at the world's tallest structures, including Taipei 101 (Taipei), Menara Tower (Kuala Lumpur), Willis Tower (Chicago), CN Tower (Toronto), Eiffel Tower (Paris), Eureka Tower (Melbourne), Swissôtel (Singapore), Tower 42 (London), the Empire State Building (New York), the Bitexco Financial Tower (Ho Chi Minh City), and the Torre Colpatria (Bogotá). Races are held in either time trial or mass-start format and attract elite athletes from various sports, often with large sums of prize money. The results of more than 160 races on all continents are evaluated each year for the Towerrunning World Cup. Thomas Dold
__NOTOC__ Thomas Dold (born September 10, 1984, in Wolfach, Baden-Württemberg) is a German track and field and extreme athlete and a tower runner, stair runner, world-record holding champion backwards runner. Dold has competed a number of times in the most prestigious tower run of the world, the Empire State Building Run Up in New York. He first participated in 2005 and finished second. The next year he won the competition, the youngest competitor ever to do so. When he participated the third time on February 6, 2007, he was able to defend his title. In February 2008 he finished the run with his personal record time of 10 minutes, 8 seconds and won for the third time in a row. He followed it up with another win in 2009 in a time of 10 minutes and 6 seconds. On June 15, 2008, Thomas Dold won the tower run up 2,046 steps to the 91st level of Taipei 101, which was the highest skyscraper of the world at that time. It took him 10 minutes, 53 seconds. Valentina Belotti
Valentina Belotti (born 4 April 1980) is an Italian female mountain runner, world champion at the 2009 World Mountain Running Championships. Biography At individual senior level she won 4 medals (1 gold and 3 silver) at the World Mountain Running Championships and 3 (all silver) at the European Mountain Running Championships. She also competed at three editions of the IAAF World Cross Country Championships at senior level (2002, 2004, 2007). She won also six senior national championships. Sport In Vietnam
This article presents an overview of the Sports in Vietnam. Team sports Football Association football in Vietnam is run by the Vietnam Football Federation. The federation administers the Vietnam national football team, as well as the V-League, Vietnam First Division, Vietnam Second Division, and the Vietnamese League Three. Football is the most popular sport in Vietnam. Its annual V-League competition has taken place since 1980 (except in 1988 and 1999). When Vietnam was split into North Vietnam and South Vietnam, two national teams existed. The North Vietnamese national team was not very active, playing almost exclusively against other Communist countries between 1956 and 1966, while the South Vietnamese national team took part in the first two AFC Asian Cup finals, finishing fourth place both times.
