With lineage to clubs founded in 1904, the team plays in the Pacific Coast Soccer League (PCSL), a provincial amateur league featuring teams from British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. From the 1930s through 1970s, Victoria United FC played in the old Pacific Coast League, notably winning five league championships and one playoff tile (Top Star Trophy). In 1967, they won the Pacific Coast International Championship for the J.F. Kennedy Trophy. From 1994 through 2012 Victoria played its home matches at Royal Athletic Park. Joshua Christopher 'Josh' Simpson (born May 15, 1983) is a Canadian former professional soccer player who is currently the president of Canadian Premier League team Pacific FC. During a career that included stops in England, Germany, Turkey, and Switzerland, he earned 43 caps for Canada before retiring from professional soccer after being unable to recover from a leg injury. Buzz Parsons
Les "Buzz" Parsons (born 16 December 1950) is a Canadian former soccer player who played at both professional and international levels as a midfielder. During his career in North America with the Vancouver Whitecaps, Parsons was affectionately known as "White Shoes", owing to the white boots he wore. After retiring as a player, Parsons later became a professional soccer coach. Career Club career Parsons played youth football in England with Huddersfield Town and Ipswich Town, but he never made a senior league appearance for either team. The regular season began on 14 May and ended on 16 July, and was followed by the Challenge Cup, a post season tournament of the top four teams to determine the league's champion. Each team played between 12 and 13 matches depending on the division entered. The women's open division consisted of 11 teams while the men's open division had 7. In the Men's Premier division, the Vancouver Thunderbirds finished the season in first place, but Okanagan Challenge won the playoff finals. In the Women's Premier division, the Vancouver Thunderbirds won both the season and the playoffs. Stephen John Nash (born 7 February 1974) is a Canadian professional basketball coach and former player who most recently served as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
