Victor Valley Station
Victor Valley is the southern portion of the phase 1 Brightline West rail line running to Las Vegas Boulevard in the Las Vegas Valley and future extensions continuing south to Palmdale, Rancho Cucamonga, and Los Angeles. The station will be at the north end of the town of Apple Valley near Interstate 15 and Dale Evans Parkway. Construction permits were acquired in March 2020 by Brightline, construction was expected to begin in the second half of 2021, and the station is expected to open in the second half of 2024. The area will include a maintenance facility for all Brightline west equipment, with a train staging facility, as well as the Brightline West station. Victor Valley is the planned terminus of the initial phase 1 route with planned extensions to Rancho Cucamonga and a proposed extension to Los Angeles Union Station. Brightline Stations
Brightline (reporting mark BLFX) is an inter-city rail route between Miami and West Palm Beach, Florida that runs on track owned by Florida East Coast Railway. Brightline is the only privately owned and operated intercity passenger railroad in the United States. The ''Southwest Chief'' (formerly the ''Southwest Limited'' and ''Super Chief'') is a passenger train operated by Amtrak on a route between Chicago and Los Angeles through the Midwest and Southwest via Kansas City, Albuquerque, and Flagstaff. Rancho Cucamonga
Rancho Cucamonga was a Mexican land grant in present-day San Bernardino County, California, given in 1839 to the dedicated soldier, smuggler and politician Tiburcio Tapia by Mexican governor Juan Bautista Alvarado. The grant formed parts of present-day California cities Rancho Cucamonga and Upland. It extended easterly from San Antonio Creek to what is now Hermosa Avenue, and from today's Eighth Street to the mountains. Palmdale Transportation Center
The Palmdale Transportation Center is a multi-modal transportation center featuring a Metrolink rail station, a local bus hub, and commuter bus hub in the city of Palmdale, California. The center was completely rebuilt in April 2005. It features a "clock tower plaza" which has an enclosed waiting room with concessions and vending, public telephone, restrooms, a bus pass sales office, and security service. The center has four partially enclosed shelters at the bus hub and six partially enclosed shelters for the rail platform. The center also has a large park and ride facility with 586 spaces.
