Victor Callejas (born November 12, 1960) is a Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican former boxing, boxer who was world Junior Featherweight champion. Early history Callejas compiled a record of 36 wins and 4 defeats as an amateur boxer, and in 1979, he decided to turn professional. That he did on the night of February 18 of that year. In his first bout, Callejas, like Henry Armstrong, Rafael Marquez (boxer), Rafael Marquez, Chucho Castillo and Wilfredo Vazquez, lost. Super bantamweight, also known as junior featherweight, is a weight class in professional boxing, contested from and up to . There were attempts by boxing promoters in the 1920s to establish this weight class, but few sanctioning organizations or state athletic commissions would recognize it. Louie Espinoza (born May 12, 1962 in Globe, Arizona) is an American boxer in the Featherweight division. He now resides in Chandler, Arizona. Espinoza turned pro in 1982 and won the Vacant WBA Super Bantamweight Title in 1987 by defeating Tommy Valoy, becoming the first world champion boxer from Arizona in history.
