Prestwich
Prestwich ( ) is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, Greater Manchester, England, north of Manchester city centre, north of Salford and south of Bury. Historically part of Lancashire, Prestwich was the seat of the ancient parish of Prestwich-cum-Oldham, in the hundred of Salfordshire. The Church of St Mary the Virgin—a Grade I listed building—has lain at the centre of the community for centuries. The oldest part of Prestwich, around Bury New Road, is known as Prestwich Village. There is a large Jewish community in Prestwich which, together with neighbouring Whitefield, Cheetham Hill, Crumpsall and Broughton Park, forms the second-largest in the United Kingdom. History Toponymy Prestwich is possibly of Old English origin, derived from ''preost'' and ''wic'', which translates to the priest's farm. Another possible derivation is priest's retreat. Wic was a place-name element derived from the Latin vicus, place. Its most common meaning is dairy-farm.

Audio Engineer
An audio engineer (also known as a sound engineer or recording engineer) helps to produce a recording or a live performance, balancing and adjusting sound sources using equalization, dynamics processing and audio effects, mixing, reproduction, and reinforcement of sound. Audio engineers work on the "technical aspect of recording—the placing of microphones, pre-amp knobs, the setting of levels. The physical recording of any project is done by an engineer... the nuts and bolts." Sound engineering is increasingly seen as a creative profession where musical instruments and technology are used to produce sound for film, radio, television, music and video games. Audio engineers also set up, sound check and do live sound mixing using a mixing console and a sound reinforcement system for music concerts, theatre, sports games and corporate events. Alternatively, ''audio engineer'' can refer to a scientist or professional engineer who holds an engineering degree and who designs, dev ...

''Novice'' is the seventh studio album by French rocker Alain Bashung, issued in 1989 on Barclay Records. Production The songwriting is split between Boris Bergman, marking is last collaboration with Bashung, and Jean Fauque who would go on to write his four subsequent albums. One of the song, "By Proxy", is one of the very few original written entirely in English by Bashung. The song "Alcaline" is a pun on French pop singer Christophe's song "Aline". In 2011, Christophe covered the song for the tribute album ''Tels Alain Bashung''. Reception In a review that was featured in the compilation ''OpticalSound 3'', one reviewer praised ''Novice'' as the only Bashung album other than ''Play blessures'' that they enjoyed all the way through. Alain Bashung
Alain Bashung (, born Alain Claude Baschung; 1 December 1947 – 14 March 2009) was a French singer, songwriter and actor. Credited with reviving the French chanson in "a time of French musical turmoil", he is often regarded in his home country as the most important French rock musician after Serge Gainsbourg. He rose to prominence in the early 1980s with hit songs such as "Gaby oh Gaby" and "Vertige de l'amour", and later had a string of hit records from the 1990s onward, such as "Osez Joséphine", "Ma petite entreprise" and "La nuit je mens". He has had an influence on many later French artists, and is the most awarded artist in the Victoires de la Musique history with 12 victories obtained throughout his career. Bashung's ''Play blessures'' (1982), ''Osez Joséphine'' (1991), and ''Fantaisie militaire'' (1998) have made multiple French lists of the greatest albums. ''L'Imprudence'' (2002) and ''Bleu pétrole'' (2008), the last two studio albums released during his lifetime, al ...

Frooty Rooties
''Frooty Rooties'' is the second solo album of Eric Stewart released in 1982. Overview The album opens with a ten minute three part composition "The Ritual" reminiscent of the 10cc songs "Une Nuit a Paris" and " Feel the Benefit". The vocal effects on "The Ritual" were created by the first AMS delay line, a repeat echo unit that revolutionised "Double Track" Vocals in the 1970s and the chorusing/flanging was achieved by modulating the effect of the repeated vocal ever so slightly so that it moves around the stereo. The ballad "Make the Pieces Fit" was originally written for 10cc album ''Look Hear?'' and was also featured on Stewart's previous album, "Girls". "Doris the Florist" is another ballad in the classic 10cc style. The rest of the album is Eric Stewart's homage to the classic rock'n'roll of the 60's thus the album's name. ''Frooty Rooties'' was recorded mostly by Eric Stewart and Paul Burgess and features several additional contributions from then 10cc lineup musicians. ...

Windows In The Jungle
''Windows in the Jungle'' is the ninth studio album by British rock band 10cc, released in October 1983. Background The album became a return to the roots for 10cc as all the songs on the album were written together by Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman, some of which were extended pieces with complex arrangements ("24 Hours", "Taxi! Taxi!", "The Secret Life of Henry"), reminiscent of the "Une Nuit a Paris" and " Feel the Benefit" from the earlier albums, and based on the unifying concept of love and life in the city. The album also continued the formula established by the previous 10cc album ''Ten Out of 10'' for which the band consisted of Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman with other musicians taking part as session players, however again featuring long-time 10cc collaborators Rick Fenn and Stuart Tosh along with recent addition of Vic Emerson to the live lineup. However, the album marked the absence of Paul Burges for the first time since 1977 ''Deceptive Bends''. ''Windows i ...

Ten Out Of 10
''Ten Out of 10'' is the eighth studio album by 10cc. It was released in two different versions with the original edition coming in November 1981 and the US version coming in June 1982 respectively. Overview After two albums of 10cc as a sixpiece lineup ''Ten Out of 10'' was a return to the core duo of Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart with all other contributors taking a role of session musicians, despite the fact that the album featured two of the musicians used on the band's previous album, 1980s ''Look Hear?'': drummer Paul Burgess on all but three tracks and guitarist and singer Rick Fenn credited on two tracks but played on all other tracks uncredited. Other session musicians included pianist Vic Emerson of Sad Café, who also joined 10cc on tour. The album credits resulted in identification of Gouldman and Stewart only as "Graham" and "Eric" like on previous albums with other musicians credited by full name after the contributions of the former. The only band member pho ...
