VfL Frohnlach is a German association football club from the municipality of Frohnlach in Ebersdorf bei Coburg, Bavaria. __TOC__ History The club was established as ''Sports Club Arminia Frohnlach'' in 1919 and, after a 1925 merger with ''Turnverein Frohnlach'', became ''Verein für Leibesübungen 1919 e. V. Frohnlach''. In addition to fielding a football side the sports club had departments for cycling, fistball, and gymnastics. Like other clubs that were part of the ''Arbeiter-Turn- und -Sportbundes'' (Worker's Gymnastics and Sports Union) ''VfL'' was banned in 1933 by the Nazi regime as politically undesirable. SV Erlbach
SV Erlbach is a German association football club from the municipality of Erlbach, Bavaria. The club's greatest success has been promotion to the tier five Bayernliga in 2015. History Formed in 1963, SV Erlbach played, for the most part of its history as a lower amateur side. The club won promotion of the Bezirksliga Oberbayern-Ost in 2004 and played at this level for two seasons before achieving another promotion, now to the tier six Bezirksoberliga Oberbayern. The Alemannia Haibach is a German association football club from the town of Haibach, Bavaria. The club's most notable moment came in 1996–97, when it spent a season in the tier four Fußball-Bayernliga. It also once qualified for German Cup play in 1979 but was knocked out in the first round by VfL Frohnlach in an 8–4 loss after extra time. The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. In some leagues, playoffs or qualifying rounds are also used to determine rankings. This process can continue through several levels of divisions, with teams being exchanged between adjacent divisions. The Landesliga Bayern sits at step 6 of the German football league system and is the third highest level in the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and organised in five regional divisions. The current Landesligas were formed in 1963, when the Bundesliga was established. From 2012, when the Regionalliga Bayern was established, the Landesligas were expanded from three to five divisions. The seven Bezirksoberligas Bayern were the third highest level of the Bavarian football league system, below the Bayernliga and the Landesliga Bayern from 1988 to 2012. They were the seventh tier of the German football league system. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the sixth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fifth tier.
