Ružomberok (; german: Rosenberg; hu, Rózsahegy; pl, Rużomberk) is a town in northern Slovakia, in the historical Liptov region. It has a population of around 27,000 inhabitants (45,000 with nearby villages). Etymology The name of the initial settlement located on today's Makovický street was ''Revúca'' ( Slovak "roaring", derived from the Revúca river). Rutronik Stars Keltern
The Rutronik Stars Keltern are the women's basketball department of the club FC Nöttingen in Remchingen, Germany. The game is played in the neighboring municipality of Keltern, and the venue for the home games is the sports hall in the Speiterlinghalle. History The club was founded in Keltern in 1981. In 2012 the team was taken over by FC Nöttingen. At that time the name Grüner Stern Keltern was still used. In the 2015 season Keltern became champions in the 2nd women's basketball league group south and was promoted to the 1st women's basketball league. The 2017 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2017, was the 36th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. The tournament was awarded to Czech Republic after winning the bid to Serbia. The tournament also serves as a qualification for the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain, with the top five nations qualifying. As hosts Spain finished in the top five, the sixth placed team also qualified. The championship was reverted to a 16 teams championship, after the 20 teams that participated in 2015.
