Vermont Catamounts Women's Ice Hockey
The Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program represents the University of Vermont. The Catamounts compete in Hockey East. Their first year of varsity women's hockey was in 1998-99. The Catamounts were in the ECAC at the Division III level of competition. In 2001-02, the Catamounts moved up to Division I. For the 2005-06 season, the Catamounts moved to Hockey East. History The Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program was launched in 1995-1996, under head coach Bruce Garrapy. During the 2003-04 season, Kami Cote of Vermont set an NCAA record for most saves in one season with 1332. During the 2010-11 season, Roxanne Douville earned consecutive shutouts against No. 9 Providence (Jan. 30) and Maine (Feb. 5) establishing a new program record shutout streak of 164 minutes and 13 seconds. Vermont Catamounts
The Vermont Catamounts are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of the University of Vermont, based in Burlington, Vermont, United States. The school sponsors 18 athletic programs (8 men's, 10 women's), most of which compete in the NCAA Division I America East Conference (AEC), of which the school has been a member since 1979. The men's and women's ice hockey programs compete in Hockey East. The men's and women's alpine and nordic skiing teams compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA). The school's athletic director is Jeff Schulman. The Catamounts have won six national championships, all in skiing. The program's mascot is Rally and colors are green and gold. The 2009–10 Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey season was coached by head coach Tim Bothwell, assisted by Grant Kimball and Mike Gilligan. The athletic trainer was Grant Wilson, and the strength & conditioning coach was Justin Goulet. Team Kuortane
Team Kuortane is an ice hockey team in the Naisten Liiga, the premier women's hockey league in Finland. They are based at the Kuortaneen urheilulukio in Kuortane, a small town in South Ostrobothnia, and play at the (). The team was founded by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association in 2010 as part of its initiative to develop the ice hockey skills of young women in Finland. Dennis Miller (ice Hockey)
Dennis Miller (born July 25, 1969, in Buffalo, New York, United States), is a former American ice hockey player, coach, and scout. Playing career Miller was a four-year letterman at Vermont under head coach Mike Gilligan, appearing in 128 games and logging 37 points in his career. After graduation, Miller played two games for the ECHL's Louisville Icehawks, and five games for Motor České Budějovice in the Czech Republic. He also played two seasons for the Flint Bulldogs of the Colonial Hockey League and wrapped up his playing with the Fort Worth Fire of the Central Hockey League. Coaching career Miller was hired by his alma mater in 1996 to lead Vermont's women's hockey team to full varsity status, starting competition at the NCAA Division III level as it transitioned to NCAA Division I.
