Batagay (russian: Батага́й; sah, Баатаҕай, ''Baatağay'') is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) and the administrative center of Verkhoyansky District of the Sakha Republic, Russia, located on the Yana River. Verkhoyansk ( rus, Верхоянск, p=vʲɪrxɐˈjansk; sah, Верхоянскай, ''Verkhoyanskay'') is a town in Verkhoyansky District of the Sakha Republic, Russia, located on the Yana River in the Arctic Circle, from Batagay, the administrative center of the district, and north of Yakutsk, the capital of the Sakha republic. The Yakuts, or the Sakha ( sah, саха, ; , ), are a Turkic ethnic group who mainly live in the Republic of Sakha in the Russian Federation, with some extending to the Amur, Magadan, Sakhalin regions, and the Taymyr and Evenk Districts of the Krasnoyarsk region. The Baky (russian: Бакы; sah, Бакы) is a river in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia. It is one of the northern tributaries of the Yana. The river has a length of and a drainage basin area of . The river flows north of the Arctic Circle. Its basin falls within Verkhoyansky District. Course The Baky is a left tributary of the Yana. It has its sources in the northwestern slopes of the Khayrdakh Ridge (Хайырдахский кряж), part of the Kular Range of the Verkhoyansk system. The Tykakh (russian: Тыках; sah, Тыкаах, ''Tıkaax'') is a river in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia. It is a tributary of the Yana. The river has a length of and a drainage basin area of . The river flows just north of the Arctic Circle and there are no settlements near its course. Its basin falls within Verkhoyansky District. Course The Tykakh is a left tributary of the Yana. It has its sources at the confluence of the Arga-Sala and Ilin-Sala —both having a length of — at the edge of the northwestern part of the Yana Plateau, near the southeastern end of the Kular Range of the Verkhoyansk system. Mat-Gora
Ynnakh Mountain, also known as Arga Ynnakh Khaya (russian: Арга Ыннах Хая), Gora Ulakhan Ynnakh (russian: Гора Улахан Ыннах) and as Mother Mountain (russian: Мать-Гора), is a mountain in Verkhoyansky District, Yakutia, Russian Federation.
