George Frederic Verdon
Sir George Frederic Verdon was an Australian politician and public figure who was elected a member of the legislative assembly for Williamstown in 1859. He was also general manager of the English Scottish and Australian Chartered Bank, Melbourne and was elected president of the Public Library, Museums and National Gallery of Victoria in 1883. Life Verdon was a son of the Rev. Edward Verdon, he was born in Bury, Lancashire, England 1834 and was educated at Rossall School. In 1851 he emigrated to Melbourne Australia. Obtaining a position in the office of Grice Sumner and Company he afterwards went into business at Williamstown, and began his public career as a member of the local municipal council. He was chairman of a conference of municipal delegates and soon afterwards published in 1858 a pamphlet on ''The Present and Future of Municipal Government in Victoria''. Gwen Verdon
Gwyneth Evelyn "Gwen" Verdon (January 13, 1925October 18, 2000) was an American actress and dancer. She won four Tony Awards for her musical comedy performances, and served as an uncredited choreographer's assistant and specialty dance coach for theater and film. Verdon was a critically acclaimed performer on Broadway in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, having originated many roles in musicals, including Lola in ''Damn Yankees'', the title character in ''Sweet Charity'' and Roxie Hart in ''Chicago''. She is also strongly identified with her second husband, director-choreographer Bob Fosse, remembered as the dancer-collaborator-muse for whom he choreographed much of his work and as the guardian of his legacy after his death. Biography Verdon is a graduate of Regis High School in New York City and Fordham University. His initial career was in the advertising industry in New York City, where he worked on the creative sides of several large agencies. After his retirement from advertising, he and his wife decided to leave the city and move to a rural area in the western foothills of the Catskill Mountains.

Jimmy Verdon
Jimmy Verdon (born November 4, 1981) is an American football defensive end who was most recently a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was originally drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Arizona State. Verdon has also been a member of the Cincinnati Bengals. Early years Verdon attended Pomona High School in Pomona, California and played linebacker, fullback and quarterback. College career Verdon attended Arizona State University. He earned second-team All-Pac-10 honors and was voted the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player in 2004. Philip Verdon (22 February 1886 – 18 June 1960) was a British rower who competed in the 1908 Summer Olympics. Verdon was born in Brixton, London.
