Venio Losert
Venio Losert (born 25 July 1976) is a retired Croatian handball player who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently the goalkeeping coach of Egypt men's national handball team, Egypt. Losert was born in Zavidovići, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, grew up in Slavonski Brod, SR Croatia. Winning the first medal at the age of 19 at Handball at the 1996 Summer Olympics, 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, when Croatia won the first gold medal as an independent nation, he is considered the youngest debutant of the team. Losert was also the member of the golden Croatia men's national handball team, national handball team that won the first place at the Handball at the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. As a youngster he joined Badel Zagreb, the strongest team in the country and was part of the team who won the European Cup in 1992 and 1993. KS Vive Handball Kielce SA, officially known for sponsorship reasons as Łomża Industria Kielce, is a professional men's handball club based in Kielce in southeastern Poland, founded in 1965 under the name Iskra Kielce. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The European Men's Handball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national handball teams of Europe and takes place every two years since 1994, in the even-numbered year between the World Championship. 2009 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2009 World Men's Handball Championship (21st tournament) took place in Croatia from 16 January to 1 February, in the cities of Split, Zadar, Osijek, Varaždin, Poreč, Zagreb and Pula. Croatia was selected from a group of four potential hosts which included the Czech Republic, Greece and Romania. The opening game and ceremony were held in Split, and the final game was played in Zagreb. France won the tournament after defeating Croatia in the final. Poland took the third place after winning over Denmark. Tickets for the tournament went on sale from 15 to 20 November. For the finals, ticket prices started at 700 kuna (c. €95). To promote the tournament, the Croatian National Tourist Board launched a series of presentations in the capitals of 13 participating countries. World Men's Handball Championship
The IHF Men's Handball World Championship has been organized indoor by the International Handball Federation since 1938. In the twenty-seven tournaments held, eleven nations have won the title. France is the most successful team with six titles, followed by Sweden and Romania with four titles each. The current champion is Denmark, which won its second title at the 2021 tournament in Egypt. The men's handball tournament at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held from 28 July to 12 August at the Olympic Park. The group stage matches were held at the Copper Box and the knockout rounds took place at the larger Basketball Arena. Twelve nations were represented in the tournament.
