Venice is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 162. It is south of New Orleans on the west bank of the Mississippi River at . It is the last community down the Mississippi accessible by automobile, and it is the southern terminus of the Great River Road. This has earned the town the nickname "The end of the world." In 2001, the combined population for Venice and the neighboring communities of Orchard (often considered a part of Venice) and Boothville, Louisiana, was about 2,740 people, with about 975 families. Grand Isle, Louisiana
Grand Isle is a town in Jefferson Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana, located on a barrier island of the same name in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is at the mouth of Barataria Bay where it meets the gulf. The town of Grand Isle is statistically part of the New Orleans− Metairie−Kenner metropolitan statistical area, though it is not connected to New Orleans' continuous urbanized area. Nunez Community College (NCC) is a public community college in Chalmette, Louisiana. Its full name is Elaine P. Nunez Community College; it was named for the deceased wife of former Louisiana State Senate President Samuel B. Nunez. Its service area includes St. Bernard and Plaquemines parishes. Boothville-Venice High School
Boothville-Venice is a former census-designated place (CDP) in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, United States, which includes the unincorporated communities of Boothville, Venice, and Orchid. The population was 2,220 at the 2000 census. For the 2010 census, Boothville-Venice was split into the CDPs of Boothville and Venice. Boothville is the most populous and northernmost of these communities, all located along Louisiana Highway 23 on the West Bank of the Mississippi River. Boothville is home to the Boothville Heliport, important in helicopter transport for offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. Buras is a census-designated place (CDP) in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, United States. Its population was 945 at the 2010 census, and 1,109 in 2020. Prior to the 2010 census, Buras was considered to be part of the Buras-Triumph CDP. History In November 2006, Jeré Longman of ''The New York Times'' wrote that "almost no evidence of recovery exist d in the post-Hurricane Katrina period. False Confession
A false confession is an admission of guilt for a crime which the individual did not commit. Although such confessions seem counterintuitive, they can be made voluntarily, perhaps to protect a third party, or induced through coercive interrogation techniques.
