Vemac RD408R
The is a race car produced by the Vemac Car Company that raced in the Japanese Super GT GT300 and GT500 classes. It raced between 2004 and 2010. Specifications The RD408R is essentially a version of the RD320R introduced in 2002, but fitted with a Mugen Motorsports MF408S 4.0 L V8. The RD408R was developed specifically to compete in the GT500 class as a successor to the RD350R. In later years the RD408R's engine was replaced with a Mugen MF458S V8. At least one road car, known as the RD408, was built. It was given the registration plate of EU54 BXA. A related car, the RD408H, was also developed; this was essentially the RD408 road car with a hybrid system developed by PUES Corporation, one of Tokyo R&D's subsidiaries. Super GT (stylized as SUPER GT) is a grand touring car racing series that began in 1993. Launched as the , generally referred to as either the JGTC or the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship, the series was renamed to Super GT in 2005. Specifications The RD350R is essentially a version of the RD320R introduced the previous year, but fitted with a Zytek Engineering (now Gibson Technology) ZV348 3.4 L V8. It was tuned by Sierra Sports and was bored and stroked to 4.0 L as of the final season in 2012. Although the RD350R features a similar appearance to the RD320R, it was changed significantly, mainly in terms of aerodynamics. The Zytek engine was selected to increase the car's power. Vemac RD320R
The is a race car produced by the Vemac Car Company that raced in the Japanese Super GT GT300 class. It raced between 2002 and 2011 and completed over 150 races in Japan alone. Specifications When it was introduced in 2002, it used a C32B V6 sourced from a Honda NSX tuned by Toda Racing; this engine would be bored and stroked to 3.4 L similar to the NSXs running in GT500 at the time. The RD320R uses a Hewland 6-speed manual transmission actuated through a shift lever. More powerful versions intended for GT500 competition, the RD350R and RD408R, were developed in 2003 and 2004 respectively; these featured larger V8 engines for increased power. The 2010 Autobacs Super GT Series was the eighteenth season of the Japan Automobile Federation Super GT Championship including the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) era and the sixth season as the Super GT series. A sequential manual transmission, also known as a sequential gearbox, or a sequential transmission, is a type of non-synchronous manual transmission used mostly for motorcycles and racing cars. It produces faster shift times than traditional synchronized manual transmissions, and restricts the driver to selecting either the next or previous gear, in a successive order.
