Vemac RD350R
The is a race car produced by the Vemac Car Company that raced in the Japanese Super GT GT300 and GT500 classes. It competed between 2003 and 2012. Specifications The RD350R is essentially a version of the RD320R introduced the previous year, but fitted with a Zytek Engineering (now Gibson Technology) ZV348 3.4 L V8. It was tuned by Sierra Sports and was bored and stroked to 4.0 L as of the final season in 2012. Although the RD350R features a similar appearance to the RD320R, it was changed significantly, mainly in terms of aerodynamics. The Zytek engine was selected to increase the car's power. At least one road car, the RD350, was built. It was given the registration plate of EU03 CWP. Vemac RD320R
The is a race car produced by the Vemac Car Company that raced in the Japanese Super GT GT300 class. It raced between 2002 and 2011 and completed over 150 races in Japan alone. Specifications When it was introduced in 2002, it used a C32B V6 sourced from a Honda NSX tuned by Toda Racing; this engine would be bored and stroked to 3.4 L similar to the NSXs running in GT500 at the time. The RD320R uses a Hewland 6-speed manual transmission actuated through a shift lever. More powerful versions intended for GT500 competition, the RD350R and RD408R, were developed in 2003 and 2004 respectively; these featured larger V8 engines for increased power. 2012 Super GT Series
The 2012 Autobacs Super GT Series was the twentieth season of the Japan Automobile Federation Super GT Championship including the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) era and the eighth season as the Super GT series. It also marked the thirtieth season of a JAF-sanctioned sports car racing championship dating back to the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship. The Vemac Car Company was a low-volume Anglo-Japanese car manufacturer. The company is noted today for their construction of race cars used in the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship and its successor, Super GT. History The Vemac Car Company was founded in 1998 by two employees of Tokyo R&D, Osamu Hatakawa and Masao Ono, who wanted to make a road-going version of the Cadwell lightweight racing car designed by the company.
