Veltdalseggi is a mountain in Skjåk Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Tafjordfjella mountains and inside the Reinheimen National Park, about northeast of the village of Grotli. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Sponghøi to the east, Høggøymen and Dørkampen to the southeast, Vulueggi to the southwest, Tordsnose to the west, and Karitinden to the north. Tordsnose is a mountain on the border of Fjord Municipality (in Møre og Romsdal county) and Skjåk Municipality (in Innlandet county) in Norway. The tall mountain lies within the Tafjordfjella mountain range and within Reinheimen National Park, about southwest of Karitinden and south of Puttegga. The lake Grønvatnet sits south of the mountain and the lake Tordsvatnet lies straight east of the mountain. Vulueggi
Vulueggi is a mountain ridge in Skjåk Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The tall mountain is located in the Tafjordfjella mountains and inside the Reinheimen National Park, about northeast of the village of Grotli. The mountain is surrounded by several other notable mountains including Tordsnose to the north, Veltdalseggi and Benkehøa to the northeast, Høggøymen to the east, and Krosshø to the west. The mountain ridge has a number of peaks, three of which have a prominence of more than . The highest of these lies approximately in the middle of Vulueggi, and has a height of above sea level. In the north, east of Grønvatnet, there is a peak of and in the south is a third peak reaching . The two southernmost of the three peaks form border points for the Reinheimen National Park. Karitinden
Karitinden is a mountain in the Tafjordfjella mountain range inside Reinheimen National Park on the border of Innlandet and Møre og Romsdal counties in Norway. The top of the mountain is a tripoint border junction for Skjåk Municipality (in Innlandet county), and Fjord Municipality and Rauma Municipality (in Møre og Romsdal county). The nearest village is Tafjord which lies to the northwest. The lake Tordsvatnet lies southeast of the mountain and the mountain Puttegga lies to the northwest. Other mountains that surround the mountain include Benkehøa to the southeast, Veltdalseggi to the south, and Tordsnose to the southwest. Name The first element is the female name ''Kari'' and the last element is the finite form of ''tind'' which means "mountain peak". The reason for the name, and who the person Kari was, is unknown. Innlandet
Innlandet is a county in Norway. It was created on 1 January 2020 with the merger of the old counties of Oppland and Hedmark (the municipalities of Jevnaker and Lunner were transferred to the neighboring county of Viken on the same date). The new county has an area of , making it the second largest county in Norway after Troms og Finnmark county. The county name translates to "The Inland" which reflects that the county is the only landlocked county in Norway. Tafjordfjella
Tafjordfjella or Tafjordfjellene ( en, The Tafjord mountains) is a mountain range in Møre og Romsdal and Innlandet counties, Norway. It is located in the municipalities of Fjord Municipality, Fjord, Stranda Municipality, Stranda, Rauma Municipality, Rauma, and Skjåk Municipality, Skjåk. The area takes its name from the village of Tafjord and the Tafjorden, the main entry point. The highest peaks are Puttegga at , Karitinden at , Tordsnose at , and Høgstolen at . Lakes in the area include Tordsvatnet, Veltdalsvatnet, Zakariasdammen, and Grønvatnet. Part of the range is included inside Reinheimen National Park. Skjåk is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Gudbrandsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Bismo. Most of the municipal residents live in the Billingsdalen and Ottadalen valleys along the river Otta. The local newspaper is named ''Fjuken''. Reinheimen National Park ( no, Reinheimen nasjonalpark) is a national park in Norway that was established in 2006. The park consists of a continuous protected mountain area. It is located in Møre og Romsdal and Innlandet counties in Norway. The park includes parts of the municipalities of Lesja, Skjåk, Vågå, Lom, Fjord, and Rauma. The park consists of much of the Tafjordfjella mountain range as well as the reindeer habitat in the northern part of the Ottadalen valley. The park is one of the largest wilderness areas still intact in Western Norway.
