Heine-Velox was a large, expensive luxury car made by Gustav Heine. Heine Piano Company was originally Bruenn Piano Company before Heine became owner. All were based in San Francisco. Piano business Gustav Otto Ludolf Heine was born near Boizenburg, Germany, in 1868, and emigrated to the United States in 1873 with his parents and seven siblings, settling in the Capay Valley. At the age of 16, he moved to San Francisco and went to work for ''Bruenn Piano Company''. Heine became a piano tuner, but did not get along well with the owner of the firm. After much conflict, and a scar from dueling Bruenn with tuning hammers, Heine emerged owner of Bruenn Piano Company, changing the name of the firm to ''Heine Piano Company''. Vauxhall 30-98
The Vauxhall 30–98 is a car manufactured by Vauxhall at Luton, Bedfordshire from 1913 to 1927. In its day, its best-known configuration was the Vauxhall Velox (''velox'', ''veloc''- being Latin for "swift"/"fleet" and the source of English ''velocity'') standard 4-seater with open tourer body. Vauxhall's own description was ''the 30–98 hp Vauxhall-Velox sporting car''. The 30–98 is also known to enthusiasts by Vauxhall's chassis code E. Vauxhall Velox
The Vauxhall Velox is a six-cylinder executive car which was produced by Vauxhall from 1948 to 1965. The Velox was a large family car, directly competing in the UK with the contemporary six-cylinder Ford Zephyr, and to a slightly lesser extent, with the A90, A95, and A110 Austin Westminster models. It was introduced by Vauxhall shortly before the London Motor Show in October 1948, as a successor to the Vauxhall Fourteen. Between 1948 and 1957 the Velox shared its body with the less-powerful four-cylinder Vauxhall Wyvern. From August 1954 through to October 1965, it shared its body with the more luxuriously equipped Vauxhall Cresta, a tradition that ended with the introduction of the new PC Vauxhalls. Vickers Vellore
The Vickers Vellore was a large biplane designed as a freight and mail carrier, in single-engined and twin-engined versions, which saw limited use as freighters and long-range experimental aircraft. A final variant with a broader fuselage, the Vellox, was completed as an airliner. Development The Vickers Vellore, named after the Indian city of Vellore, was a response to Air Ministry specification 34/24, which called for a civil mail and freight carrier. It was a very large single-engined two-bay biplane, metal framed and fabric covered. The wings were of equal span with a slight stagger and sweep and braced with parallel interplane struts. Both upper and lower wings carried balanced ailerons. There were gaps both above and below the fuselage, whose diameter increased behind the radial engine. Football Club Utrecht () is a Dutch professional football club based in Utrecht. The club competes in the Eredivisie, the top tier of Dutch football, and plays its home matches at the Stadion Galgenwaard. A Velox boiler is a high pressure, forced circulation, water-tube boiler. It was developed in 1930s by Brown Boveri Company of Switzerland. The first public demonstration of Velox was at VDI Scientific Conference in Berlin on 15 October 1932. Design Velox principle From Brown Boveri Review Working Velox boiler is based on the principle that heat transfer rate increases when velocity of flue gas is more than speed of sound. This increases steam generation rate. Flue gases are used to turn a turbine which is connected to the compressor. It increases the flow of hot air to or above the speed of sound. This increases the rate of heat transfer to the water coming from the economizer into the boiler tubes causing more steam to generate which then goes into a superheater via a steam separator. Leo Baekeland
Leo Hendrik Baekeland (November 14, 1863 – February 23, 1944) was a Belgian chemist. He is best known for the inventions of Velox photographic paper in 1893, and Bakelite in 1907. He has been called "The Father of the Plastics Industry" for his invention of Bakelite, an inexpensive, non-flammable and versatile plastic, which marked the beginning of the modern plastics industry. Early life Leo Baekeland was born in Ghent, Belgium, on November 14, 1863, the son of a cobbler, Charles Baekeland, and a house maid, Rosalia Merchie.
