Vello Jürna
Vello Jürna (1 December 1959 Väike-Maarja – 12 June 2007 Laulasmaa, Keila Parish) was an Estonian opera singer (tenor). In 1991 he graduated from the Tallinn Conservatory. From 1982 until 1987, he sang in the Estonian National Male Choir, and from 1987 until 1989, in the Estonia Theatre Estonia Theatre is an historic building in Tallinn, Estonia, which houses the Estonian National Opera and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. The original Jugendstil building was designed by Finnish architects Armas Lindgren Armas Elie ...'s choir. Since 1989, he's sang at the Estonia Theatre. In 1990s he song also in several choirs outside Estonia, eg in Royal Swedish Opera. Laulasmaa
Laulasmaa is a village in Lääne-Harju Parish, Harju County, in northwestern Estonia. Location and history Laulasmaa is about west of the capital Tallinn, west of Keila-Joa, north of Kloogaranna, and next to Lahepere Bay, which is part of the Gulf of Finland. It borders with Lohusalu, Keila-Joa and Kloogaranna. In January 2005 the village had the population of 309. The village was first mentioned when under Swedish control (''Laulasmeh''). Keila Parish ( et, Keila vald) was a rural municipality in north-western Estonia. It was a part of Harju County. The municipality had a population of 3,995 (as of 1 January 2004) and covered an area of 178.97 km2. The population density was 22.3 inhabitants per km2. The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (''Eesti Muusika- ja Teatriakadeemia'') began as a mixed choir of the Estonia Society Musical Department (EMD) on the eve of World War I. The assembly of the Estonia Society created the Tallinn Higher Music School on November 17, 1918. The opening ceremony took place on September 28, 1919. In 1923 the educational institution was renamed the Tallinn Conservatoire. In 1938 the State Drama School was opened. In 1993 the school was renamed the “Estonian Academy of Music”. Estonian National Male Choir ( et, Eesti Rahvusmeeskoor) is an Estonian male choir. As of about 2020, it is the largest full-time professional male choir in the world. The choir was founded in 1944 by Gustav Ernesaks. At the beginning, the choir was named as ''Estonian SSR State Philharmonic Male Choir''. Estonia Theatre is an historic building in Tallinn, Estonia, which houses the Estonian National Opera and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. The original Jugendstil building was designed by Finnish architects Armas Lindgren and Wivi Lönn. It was built as a national effort with the leadership of Estonia society in 1913 and was opened to the public on 24 August. At the time, it was the largest building in Tallinn. The theatre was heavily damaged in the Soviet air raid on Tallinn on 9 March 1944. It was reconstructed in a classical and Stalinist style, and reopened in 1947.In 1946, it served as the home of the newly created Tallinn Ballet School and was the location of the debut of one of the graduates of the school's first class, Helmi Puur.
