Vellakkinar
Vellakkinar is a junction in Thalavay village in Thalavady Panchayath, Kuttanad Taluk, Alappuzha District, Kerala States of India, State. It derived its name because there was a water well (vellakkinar) at this junction. It is 11 km from Thiruvalla Railway Station. Haripad, Thakazhy, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha are some of the nearest railway stations from the Vellakkinar. There is also another 'vellakkinar' East to Collectorate Junction of Alleppey. Thalavady
Thalavady is an Upper Kuttanadu village and Panchayat located in Kuttanadu Taluk, Alappuzha district, Kerala, India. The village was ruled by King of Chembakassery Kingdom. Its geography is dominated by its vast lush green paddy field, unique to Kuttanad villages, bordered by a network of canals running between the fields and the Pampa River that flows through the village. Thalavady panchayat office is located in Trikkayil. Thalavady is the site of several famous temples and churches. Chakkulathukavu Temple on the banks of Pampa river in Thalavady is one of Kerala's most popular pilgrim centres. The 25-year-old Pamba Boat race is held at Neerattupuram on the day of Uthradam. Ambalappuzha is a small town in the Alappuzha district of Kerala state, India. It is located south of Alappuzha which is the district headquarters. Thakazhy
Thakazhy is a village in Alappuzha district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is part of the Kuttanad region bound by the backwaters and is located on the banks of the River Pamba. It is the birthplace of the famous writer Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai, who was popularly known just by his village name. There is a small temple called Ennavalyachan to the back side of the famous Dharma sastha temple which is the second famous (belief based) ayyappa temple after sabarimala. Kuttanad ( ml, കുട്ടനാട്) is a region covering the Alappuzha, Kottayam and Pathanamthitta Districts, in the state of Kerala, India, well known for its vast paddy fields and geographical peculiarities.
