Vejen Municipality
Vejen Municipality is a municipality ( Danish, '' kommune'') in Region of Southern Denmark on the Jutland peninsula in south Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 817 km2, and has a total population of 42,742 (2020). Its mayor is Egon Fræhr, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The municipality is part of Triangle Region and of the East Jutland metropolitan area, which had a total population of 1.378 million in 2016. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Vejen. One of the attractions of the area is the Vejen Art Museum. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions, which contain 98 municipalities ( da, kommuner , sing.: ). The Capital Region has 29 municipalities, Southern Denmark 22, Central Denmark 19, Zealand 17 and North Denmark 11. This structure was established per an administrative reform (Danish: ''Strukturreformen''; English: (''The'') ''Structural Reform'') of the public sector of Denmark, effective 26 June 2005 (council elections 15 November 2005), which abolished the 13 counties (; singular ) and created five regions (; singular ) which unlike the counties (1970–2006) (Danish (singular) ''amtskommune'' ) are not municipalities. 2005 Danish Local Elections
The Danish local elections of 2005 were held on 15 November 2005. 2522 municipal council members were elected in Denmark's 98 municipalities and 205 regional council members in the five regions. Most of these were newly formed municipalities, namely 66 municipalities, that would only begin working from Monday 1 January 2007, as would the newly formed regions, and one municipality, Ærø, which was also part of the reform, which was allowed by the government to commence work for the first time already Sunday 1 January 2006. So the first term of office in ''this'' newly created municipality was the whole period of four years from 2006 until 2009. The reform was approved 26 June 2005 by the lawmakers in the Folketing and signature by the head of state (when?). Danish People's Party
The Danish People's Party ( da, Dansk Folkeparti, DPP/DF) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP). The DPP lent its support to the Venstre– Conservative People's Party coalition government that ruled from the general election of 2001 until the 2011 election defeat. While not part of the cabinet, DPP cooperated closely with the governing coalition on most issues and received support for key political stances in return, to the point that the government was commonly referred to as the "VKO-government" (O being DPP's election symbol). Socialist People's Party (Denmark)
The Green Left ( da, Socialistisk Folkeparti, SF) is a democratic socialist political party in Denmark. It was formerly known in English as the Socialist People's Party, the literal translation of its Danish name. History 1959–1969 The SF was founded on 15 February 1959 by Aksel Larsen, a former leader of the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). Larsen was removed from the ranks of the DKP for his criticism over the Soviet intervention in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Larsen and the new SF sought to form a third way between Denmark's United States-oriented social democracy and Soviet Union–oriented communism, which sought to combine democracy with socialism. The Social Democrats ( da, Socialdemokraterne, ) is a social democratic political party in Denmark. Store Andst
Store Andst is a village in Vejen Municipality of Southern Jylland, Denmark with a population of 798 (1 January 2023). Andst Church (''Andst Kirke'') is the parish church located on a hill in the middle of the village. The large granite square building probably dates from the last decades of the 12th century. In 1592 the tower was built with the peculiar onion spire.
